Publication number: 20180165487Abstract: A reader/writer apparatus includes a roller to transport a sheet along a transport path. The sheet can labels disposed thereon spaced from each other. Each label includes a wireless tag, such as an RFID tag. A wireless tag reader has an antenna disposed on the transport path and reads identification data from wireless tags when the sheet is being transported. A processor operates to store the identification data read by wireless tag reader in association with a signal intensity of a response signal from the wireless tag and a position of the sheet on the transport path at the time of the reading of the wireless tag. A position of the sheet on the transport path for each wireless tag can be specified for writing data into the wireless tags based on peak signal intensity associated with identification data.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 11, 2017Publication date: June 14, 2018Inventor: Fusao HORI

Publication number: 20080157977Abstract: A terminal antenna which is an antenna having an end section thereof terminated is provided, and the terminal antenna is electromagnetic coupled with an antenna of a wireless tag to be communicated with. In this manner, remaining electric power and excess electric power move to the terminal antenna and converted to thermal energy at a termination. As an embodiment, for example, a communication antenna is made facing in a non-contact manner part or whole of a closed flat plane or an open flat plane formed by a wireless tag antenna and electromagnetic coupled with the wireless tag antenna, and the terminal antenna is made facing in a non-contact manner part or whole of the closed flat plane or the open flat plane formed by the wireless tag antenna to be electromagnetic coupled with the wireless tag antenna.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 7, 2008Publication date: July 3, 2008Applicant: TOSHIBA TEC KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventor: Fusao Hori

Publication number: 20080007413Abstract: A terminated antenna, which is an antenna being terminated at ends, is provided, and the terminated antenna is electromagnetically connected with an antenna of a wireless tag to communicate. Thus, the remaining power or redundant power therewithin is transferred to the terminated antenna and is transformed to thermal energy at the ends. According to an embodiment, a communication antenna may be faced, in a non-contact manner, against a part or all of a closed plane or open plane formed by a wireless tag antenna, be electromagnetically connected with the wireless tag antenna. A terminated antenna may be faced, in a non-contact manner, against a part or all of a closed plane or open plane formed by a wireless tag antenna and be electromagnetically connected with the wireless tag antenna.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 5, 2007Publication date: January 10, 2008Applicant: TOSHIBA TEC KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventor: Fusao Hori

Publication number: 20070159300Abstract: An RFID tag communication method in which an RFID tag row composed of the RFID tags arranged in a row is opposed to a transmitting/receiving antenna unit for communicating with the RFID tags, is configured to read IDs from the RFID tags. In the method, the direction in which the transmitting/receiving antenna unit transmits wireless waves is deviated from a maximum-gain direction of the RFID tags, while the RFID tag row remains opposed to the transmitting/receiving antenna unit. The IDs are thereby read from the RFID tags.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 17, 2006Publication date: July 12, 2007Applicant: TOSHIBA TEC KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventor: Fusao Hori

Publication number: 20060214853Abstract: A first power feed section is disposed in a specified position in the plane of a substantially rectangular planar antenna conductor so as to generate linearly-polarized waves that resonate in a specified direction in the plane of the planar antenna conductor. A second power feed section is disposed in a specified position in the plane of the planar antenna conductor so as to generate linearly-polarized waves that resonate in the direction substantially perpendicular to the specified direction. The first and second power feed sections are alternately supplied with high-frequency power from a high-frequency switching circuit.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 1, 2006Publication date: September 28, 2006Applicant: Toshiba Tec Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Fusao Hori
