Patent number: 8286252Abstract: A method of moving a rights object according to the present invention includes the following steps. First, a rights object in the memory card is disabled. Then, the rights object is copied from the memory card in response to a retrieval request and installed to a content player. After the installation, a removal request is transmitted to the memory card and the rights object in the memory card is removed (deleted). After transmitting the removal request, second state information is generated and held in the content player to indicate that the removal of the rights object in the memory card has not yet been completed and that the rights object installed in the content player is conditionally enabled. When the memory card receives the removal request, the memory card removes the rights object from the memory card and transmits a removal response for notifying completion of the removal to the content player.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 2008Date of Patent: October 9, 2012Assignee: Panasonic CorporationInventors: Yuta Kiyosawa, Mami Kuramitsu, Futoshi Nakabe

Patent number: 7895405Abstract: A semiconductor memory card that has a sufficient storage capacity when an EC application writes data to a storage is provided. A usage area for the EC application in an EEPROM 3 in a TRM 1 is expanded. The expansion is such that a partition generated in a flash memory 2 outside the TRM 1 is assigned to the EC application while a partition table is allocated in the internal EEPROM 3. Because the partition table is in the TRM 1, only a CPU 7 in the TRM 1 is able to access the generated partition table. Secrecy of stored contents increases because the access to the expanded area is limited to the CPU 7 in the TRM 1.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 2009Date of Patent: February 22, 2011Assignee: Panasonic CorporationInventors: Hiromi Ebara, Shinji Kawano, Futoshi Nakabe

Patent number: 7503051Abstract: A data distribution system is provided which generates outputs attribute data about multimedia data in advance and broadcasts the output attribute data together with the multimedia data so that the receiving terminal can grasp the outlines of the entire multimedia data and improve the visibility. A data broadcasting device (1) generates output attribute data about multimedia data in a data analyzing portion (13). The output attribute data exists alone or is embedded in the multimedia data. The multimedia data and the output attribute data are encoded in a protocol encoder (14) and broadcast from a transmitter (15). A receiving terminal device (2) receives the broadcast data in a tuner (21) and obtains the multimedia data and output attribute data in a tuner (21). When a data display portion (26) displays the obtained multimedia data, the output attribute data is referred to and information related to the multimedia data is displayed together with the multimedia data.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 2000Date of Patent: March 10, 2009Assignee: Panasonic CorporationInventors: Eiji Ueda, Shinji Kawano, Futoshi Nakabe

Patent number: 7303135Abstract: The present invention provides a semiconductor memory card which no longer allows an illegal practice of acquiring contents of a deleted file. Here, when a deletion event is generated, a deletion handler gives a priority to a null-clear operation of a file entry and a FAT for a file to be deleted over a null-clear operation to other constituents of the file. A null-clear operation to a file entity of the file is distributed to a plurality of event handlers including the deletion handler.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2004Date of Patent: December 4, 2007Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Futoshi Nakabe, Shinji Kawano

Patent number: 7284132Abstract: The memory card with a simple configuration is provided with more reliable security. When the memory card receives the access request to the memory from the external connecting device, the access unit accesses the memory based on the access request. At this time, the switch composing the memory card indicates the propriety of the access right to the memory, and the access limitation unit limits that the access unit accesses the memory.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2003Date of Patent: October 16, 2007Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Futoshi Nakabe, Tadakatsu Masaki, Shinji Kawano, Hideo Oozeki, Hiromi Ebara

Publication number: 20060163365Abstract: This invention prevents delays that occur when a reader/writer identifies contactless IC cards when there is a plurality of contactless IC cards in the communication area of the reader/writer, or in other words, prevents collisions between initial responses when the contactless IC cards perform initial responses. The contactless IC card comprises a plurality of random-number-generation units that generate a random number for setting a slot; and a random-number-generation-instruction unit designates the random-number-generation unit from among the plurality of random-number-generation units to be used for performing a response. A slot-setting unit uses the random number generated by the random-number-generation unit that was specified by the random-number-generation-instruction unit and performs a response to the reader/writer.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 17, 2003Publication date: July 27, 2006Inventor: Futoshi Nakabe
