  • Patent number: 5127027
Abstract: There is provided a training signal detecting apparatus which detects a repetitive pattern segment included in a reception signal. The apparatus comprises: a receiving unit to receive a training signal; a generator to generate a timing phase error signal according to a sampling timing phase difference between a transmitter and a receiver on the basis of the received training signal; and a detecting unit to generate a detection signal indicative of the detection of a repetitive pattern segment in the training signal when it is determined that a magnitude of the timing phase error signal is larger than a predetermined threshold value. With the apparatus, even if a color noise or a single tone signal is included in a reception signal, a desired repetitive pattern segment can be accurately detected with a small hardware scale of a reception side modem.
