Abstract: A coated, recycled paper stock product and related manufacturing techniques are disclosed. In accordance with some embodiments, the disclosed product may include a plurality of constituent paper layers which have been adhered together by a corresponding quantity of interstitial adhesive layers. Any one (or all) of such constituent paper layers may be made from 100% (wt %) recycled fiber, in accordance with some embodiments. Optionally, the disclosed product further may include one or more coating layers on a given constituent paper layer. In accordance with some embodiments, either (or both) of the outermost paper layers may include a coating layer disposed over the external surface (e.g., printable side) thereof. In this manner, a laminated paper product may be provided having coating(s) (or otherwise being treated with one or more treatments of a physical and/or chemical nature) for printing on multiple printing platforms, in accordance with some embodiments.

Abstract: A barrier coating for paper and a method of making the coated paper using a wax coating composition containing an inorganic mineral filler is provided. The inorganic mineral filler imparts a viscosity to the wax coating composition similar to the viscosity of the wax coating composition in the absence of the inorganic mineral filler. Coated paper products are also provided.

Abstract: An adhesive release coating for paper, plastic films, metal films, and other materials as well as a method of making the coated material with a silicone composition containing an inorganic mineral filler is provided. Use of the inorganic mineral filler results in a release coating that has an equivalent or lesser viscosity than a pure silicone release composition.

Abstract: Improved coating compositions for flexographic and other printing applications can comprise calcined clay, a binder and optionally one or more additional pigments. In some embodiments, the binder can comprise a natural composition and a synthetic composition. In addition, the coating composition can further comprise additives such as, for example, dispersants, defoamers, plastic pigments, rheology modifies, biocides, optical brighteners, cross-linkers, functional chemicals and combinations thereof. Due to the presence of the calcined clay, the improved coatings can have sufficient porosity to absorb water located in ink layers without employing significant amounts of expensive additives such as silicates and other porous compounds.

The coating is utilized to make a paper label which is water resistant but can be repulped in conventional caustic bottle washing solution. The coated paper label is applied to a bottle, the bottle used and then recycled using conventional caustic bottle washing solution to remove and repulp the paper label, permitting recycling of the bottle, and if desired, making paper from the recovered pulp.
