Abstract: A display module and a display apparatus are provided. In the display module, a backlight assembly includes a light source assembly and an optical film layer. Light emitted by the light source assembly enters a display panel through the optical film layer; and through grooves are on at least one long side and at least one short side of the optical film layer and penetrate through the optical film layer in a direction perpendicular to a plane of a light outgoing surface of the display panel. The display module further includes an intermediate frame including an intermediate frame body surrounding the backlight assembly and a first extension between the display panel and the optical film layer; and second protrusions on a surface opposite to the through grooves and correspondingly in the through grooves.

The display device includes: a display panel including an display area and a peripheral area surrounding the display area; a backlight module at a light incident side of the display panel; where the backlight module includes a backplane, a light guide plate and a plurality of light strips, the backplane includes a first polygonal bottom plate, and a plurality of first side plates connected to the first bottom plate at an edge of the first bottom plate, the light guide plate is located between the first bottom plate and the display panel, and the light strips are located between the first side plates and the light guide plate; and an assembly frame assembled to the display panel and the backlight module at an edge of the display panel and an edge of the backlight module.
