  • Patent number: 11452291
Abstract: One aspect of the present invention is directed to a composition. The composition includes a dispersion inducer comprising: H3C—(CH2)n—CHmCHmR, where is a single or double carbon-carbon bond, m is 1 or 2, n is 2 to 15, and R is a carboxylic acid, a salt, an ester, or an amide, where the ester or amide is an isostere or biostere of the carboxylic acid. The composition additionally contains an additive component selected from one or more of the group consisting of biocides, surfactants, antibiotics, antiseptics, detergents, chelating agents, virulence factor inhibitors, gels, polymers, pastes, edible products, and chewable products. The composition is formulated so that when it is contacted with a biofilm produced by a microorganism, where the biofilm comprises a matrix and microorganism on a surface, the dispersion inducer selectively acts on the microorganism and has a suitable biological response without a required direct effect on the matrix to disperse the biofilm.

  • Publication number: 20220225868
Abstract: A cannula system and method for accessing a blood mass in the brain. The system comprises a cannula with a camera mounted on the proximal end of the cannula with a view into the cannula lumen and the surgical field below the lumen. A prism, reflector or other suitable optical element is oriented between the camera and the lumen of the cannula to afford the camera a view into the cannula while minimizing obstruction of the lumen. The system may also include an obturator with a small diameter shaft and a large diameter tip which is optically transmissive, so that a surgeon inserting or manipulating the assembly can easily see that the obturator tip is near brain tissue (which is white) or blood (which is red).

  • Patent number: 11359426
Abstract: A gate hinge for a preferably wooden post which includes an L-shaped rod threaded on one leg with a metal strap rigidly connected to the threaded leg at about one and one half inches from the elbow of the rod on the threaded leg. The metal strap extends six or so inches form each side of the L-shaped rod with two or more holes near each end of the strap. The L-shaped rod is threaded into the post until the metal strap contacts the post. Then each leg of the metal bracket is bent around the post and screws or lag bolts are threaded through the holes and into the post to help secure the hinge to the post and to provide added support for the gate.

  • Publication number: 20220132915
Abstract: The device includes a single piece of glass configured into smokable plant matter chamber, venturi structure and smoke chamber along with a sealing cap with at least one fin and a lower plug portion. The smoke chamber includes an orifice by which the user draws the smoke after combustion of the smokable plant matter in the smokable plant matter chamber that acts as a bowl for holding smokable plant matter during combustion. A cap is provided to close and seal the smokable plant matter chamber after it is filled with ground smokable plant matter and to pack and seal the ground smokable plant matter in a desire amount of compression. If the user does not consume all of the ground smokable plant matter during use, the cap can be re-inserted, and the user can store and transport the remainder of the ground smokable plant matter for subsequent use.

  • Patent number: 11240247
Abstract: A multi-user computing device, such a communal computing device like an interactive digital whiteboard, can execute single user aware (“SUA”) applications and multi-user aware (“MUA”) applications. Instances of SUA applications execute in the context of a single user. MUA applications can execute in the contexts of multiple authenticated users simultaneously. A multi-user aware OS platform authenticates and de-authenticates users of the multi-user computing device. The multi-user aware OS platform provides notifications to MUA applications when users are authenticated and de-authenticated. When a new user is authenticated, MUA applications begin executing in the context of the newly authenticated user and any other previously authenticated users. When users are de-authenticated, MUA applications stop executing in the context of the de-authenticated user but continue executing in the context of the remaining authenticated users of the multi-user computing device.
