  • Patent number: 11084950
Abstract: A conductive paste is provided for forming conductive traces on substrates. The conductive paste includes a vehicle and conductive material. The vehicle includes a resin, a plasticizer, and a solvent in which the resin is dissolved. After application to a substrate, the conductive paste is cured at ambient temperature by evaporation of the solvent from the paste, to thereby form a conductive trace on the substrate. The conductive trace does not require a curing agent, and attains low resistivity within minutes of application to the substrate.

Date of Patent: August 10, 2021
    Assignee: Ferro Corporation

  • Patent number: 6309994
Abstract: A method of forming fiber reinforced aluminum phosphate bonded material having improved strength at elevated temperatures. The method comprises the steps of: (a) preparing a slurry by blending alumina and alumina phosphate solution, the slurry being substantially free of silica; (b) providing a fiber substrate; (c) infiltrating the solution into the fiber substrate; and (d) curing the infiltrated substrate to form a fiber reinforced aluminum phosphate bonded composite material. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the fiber substrate is made from SiC fibers.

  • Patent number: 5219800
Abstract: A process for increasing the colorizing effect of known colorizing oxides in an alumina body. The process includes the steps of (a) forming a glass frit containing colorants; (b) mixing the frit and alumina to form a green mixture; and (c) firing the mixture to form a fired ceramic body.

  • Patent number: 4897294
Abstract: An asbestos-free insulating material suitable for use as a header in molten metal casting. The material is made from a dry mixture comprising lime, siliceous component, delaminated vermiculite or spodumene or lithium aluminate or mixtures thereof, and optionally, wollastonite and organic fiber. The dry mixture is mixed with water to form a slurry, shaped, heated in the presence of steam, and dried to remove free water.

  • Patent number: 4830881
Abstract: A container for a material, said container having a liner comprised of an equilibrated reaction product of the material. Preferably, the material is a molten aluminum-lithium alloy and the reaction product consists essentially of lithium aluminate. A method of making the container comprises shaping a substance into a vessel, said substance having sufficient porosity to react with the material and form a non-wetting reaction product without spalling; and introducing the material to the vessel. A method of making a container liner by applying a substance to the container inner surface and introducing the alloy to the inner surface is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4773470
Abstract: A process for continuous direct chill casting of aluminum alloys, particularly aluminum-lithium alloys. The molten alloy is cast in a mold containing a header comprising delaminated vermiculite or spodumene or lithium aluminate. The header preferably comprises delaminated vermiculite blended with wollastonite, lime, silica, and wood fiber. The mixture is slurried with water, molded into shape, compressed to expel water, steam cured, and dried. The header forms ingots of good quality and has excellent resistance to attack by molten aluminum-lithium alloys.
