  • Patent number: 4538487
Abstract: Method and apparatus for preparing shielded flat cable for termination employs blades which penetrate cable jacket and shield on opposed edges.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 16, 1984
Date of Patent: September 3, 1985
    Assignee: AMP Incorporated
Inventors: John G. Hatfield, Robert Volinskie
  • Patent number: 4395856
Abstract: A post and panel mounting system for assembling office partitions uses a hinge arrangement which enables the panels to be positioned at any desired angle to one another. The hinge includes a pivot member in a pivot bracket which is mounted in a narrow horizontal channel in the end of the panel. A radial arm connected to the pivot member protrudes from the channel and has an enlarged head which fits into a vertical slot in a post bracket on the post. Spaced a short distance along the radial arm from the head is an annular flange which abuts the post bracket to hold the panel at a fixed distance from the post. To angularly position the panel relative to the post, the panel is pivoted about the pivot member on an axis inside the end of the panel. The end of the panel is rounded so as to maintain close spacing between the post and panel at all angles.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 1, 1981
Date of Patent: August 2, 1983
Inventors: David L. Smith, Karen J. Clark, Donald G. Hatfield
  • Patent number: 4288908
Abstract: A clamp is disclosed for use during connection of insulated wires into an electrical connector. The wires are collectively provided by an electrical cable which must be orientated by the clamp to project perpendicular to the connector when all the wires are connected.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 26, 1979
Date of Patent: September 15, 1981
    Assignee: AMP Incorporated

  • Patent number: 4202290
Abstract: A method of decorating a surface of a ceramic body in which a thin uniform film of colorant composition material is carried by a decorating member in a suspended state across an opening of selected area and shape corresponding to the designs to be applied to the surface of said body, the colorant material being deposited thereon by breaking the surface tension of the suspended film by contact with said surface. An apparatus for decorating a surface of a ceramic body including a receptacle for the colorant composition material, decorating members for holding one or more films of colorant composition material in a suspended state across openings configured to the shape of the design to be applied to the ceramic body; said decorating members being movable to immerse said decorating members in said colorant composition material and to deposit under gravitational forces said film on said surface.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 14, 1978
Date of Patent: May 13, 1980
    Assignee: Interpace Corporation
