    Abstract: Protection circuitry interposed between a power source and a load is arranged to gradually apply high voltage to the load until the voltage has attained a predetermined percentage of its nominal value. In the event that the load current exceeds a prescribed maximum limit, or in the absence of additional load voltages, the high voltage supply is disconnected from the load.
