  • Publication number: 20060200227
Abstract: A stent in a non-expanded state has a first column expansion strut pair. A plurality of the first column expansion strut pair form a first expansion column. A plurality of second column expansion strut pair form a second expansion column. A plurality of first serial connecting struts form a first connecting strut column that couples the first expansion column to the second expansion column. The first expansion column, the second expansion column, and the first connecting strut column form a plurality of geometric cells. At least a portion of the plurality are asymmetrical geometric cells.

  • Publication number: 20060064064
Abstract: The present invention tackles the challenging anatomic characteristics of the coronary artery disease in the bifurcation point and the origin of side-branch. The invention has a specifically designed angioplasty balloon catheter, particularly the balloon shape and profile, to be used in the diseased vessels at these difficult anatomic locations. In stent implanting into a coronary artery, a balloon catheter application is an inseparable requirement. A stent is a passive device that cannot be deployed in a diseased or stenosed artery without a pre-stent, with-stent and/or post-stent balloon dilatation. In majority (more than 95%) of available coronary stents, a stent is deployed by balloon expandable mode, meaning that the stent is delivered and expanded inside a vessel lumen by expanding a delivery balloon. This is done by crimping a stent over a folded balloon for delivery into a coronary artery.

  • Patent number: 5608589
Abstract: A tape running system for a slide loading type magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus. The system comprises a stationary base plate mounted on a deck mechanism of the apparatus, a slide base mounted on the stationary base plate such that it is reciprocated with respect to the stationary base plate within a predetermined range, a pair of loading gears mounted on the lower surface of the stationary base plate and engaging with each other and connected to a pair of slant post assemblies through individual loading levers, and a rotational force transmitting unit transmitting the rotational force of the loading gears to the slide base for driving the slide base. The rotational force transmitting unit is connected between one of the pair of loading gears and the slide base and linearly reciprocates the slide base using the rotational force of the loading gears.

  • Patent number: 5560218
Abstract: A compressor motor of an air conditioner is powered by A.C. power from an invertor. In a first mode of operation, the power comprises a combination of a commercial A.C. power source and a solar battery. In a second mode of operation, i.e., a cost-efficiency mode, the frequency of power supplied to the motor is varied to ensure that the motor is powered solely by power derived from the solar battery when such power is above a reference value.
