    Abstract: The disclosure provides dosing regimens and methods for treating atherosclerosis with an effective amount of Apo E mimetic to provide sustained therapeutic effects even after withdrawal of the treatment. The dosing regimens and methods involve a treatment cycle followed by a rest phase wherein a subject is administered an effective amount of an Apo E mimetic during the treatment cycle and no Apo E mimetic during the rest phase. The treatment cycle and the rest phase can vary.
