  • Patent number: 7603162
Abstract: An imaging tomography apparatus, in particular an x-ray tomography apparatus or an ultrasound tomography apparatus, has a stationary unit with a sensor for measurement of an out-of-balance condition of an annular data acquisition device rotatable around a patient opening in the stationary device. Compensation weights for compensation of the out-of-balance condition are provided on the data acquisition device. To simplify the balancing procedure, the compensation weights are disposed in two parallel planes axially separated from one another, and in each plane at least three compensation weights are fashioned as chambers that can be filled with a fluid. At least two of the chambers are connected with one another via at least one conduit for fluid transfer therebetween exchange.

  • Patent number: 7236855
Abstract: In a method for compensation of an out-of-balance condition of an imaging data acquisition device, rotatable around a patient opening of a stationary unit of a tomography apparatus, such as an x-ray computed tomography apparatus or an ultrasound tomography apparatus, the data acquisition device being rotatably mounted such that it can rotate around an axis in a bearing of the stationary unit, vibrations transferred to the stationary unit by the out-of-balance condition of the data acquisition device, at least one of the out-of-balance vectors causing the out-of-balance condition is determined from the vibration measurement, and the axis of the data acquisition device is adjusted with regard to an axis of the bearing to compensate the out-of-balance condition.

  • Patent number: 6189372
Abstract: In the method for balancing a body of revolution using a balancing machine which comprises an adjustment means for positional resetting of compensation masses, firstly the compensation masses are brought into zero positions thereof, wherein the imbalance vectors produced thereby cancel each other out. Then in a known manner the imbalance vector VI present is measured in terms of its magnitude and direction. After this at least one of the compensation masses is reset by shifting through any desired angle &agr; or by changing its distance from the axis of rotation, an additional imbalance being produced with a calibration imbalance vector V2. After this in a known manner the overall imbalance vector V3 present is measured in terms of its magnitude and direction and from the imbalance vector V1 and the overall imbalance vector V3 the calibration imbalance vector V2 is calculated from V2=V3−V1, the system comprising the balancing machine and the body of revolution being calibrated.
