  • Patent number: 7085510
Abstract: To suppress spread of fire from a fixing chamber of a fixing station in an electrophotographic print or copy device, in the event of a fire, in order to partition a fixing chamber for a recording medium in a fireproof manner, arranged at the openings of the fixing chamber is a safety apparatus made of an elastic sealing element and a counter-element, between which the recording medium is guided through. The sealing element is comprised of a fiberglass tube, inside which an elastic filling material or an elastic spreading element is situated. When the sealing element is pressed on the counter-element, a clamp region for the recording medium is formed, via which the opening of the fixing chamber can be sealed and a burning segment of the recording medium can be extinguished. Additionally, ashes present on the recording medium can be removed.

  • Patent number: 6449458
Abstract: A fixing station for a printer or copier includes a heating device for fusing toner to the carrier material and a cover that is selectively insertable between the heating element and the carrier material. The cover may be a window blind type cover. Where two sided fixing is provided, both heating devices have a cover. The cover may have an energy storage spring to cause the heating device to be covered in the event of an emergency. An electro-magnetic locking device may be provided to retain the cover in an open position.

  • Patent number: 4665409
Abstract: The invention relates to a write head for ink printer devices comprising tubular ink channels which are surrounded over a part of their length by individually drivable small piezo tubes and which are situated proceeding between an ink supply part and the discharge openings of the write head. The ink channels applied to a carrier part form a pre-fabricatable channel block together with this carrier part. A channel plate is secured either to that side at which the ink channels end free or to the back surface of the carrier part. In one embodiment, the channel plate comprises a layer plate having through holes into which the free ends of the ink channels equipped with the small piezo tubes are pluggable. Transition channels for guiding the ink flow and the discharge openings of the write head for fashioned in further layer plates of the channel plate.

  • Patent number: 4398204
Abstract: A circuit for operating recording nozzles in ink mosaic recorders, each nozzle having an associated ink channel cylindrically surrounded by a piezoelectric transducer having a diameter which expands upon the application of a voltage thereto having a polarity which is opposite to the direction of polarization of the transducer and contracts upon the application of a voltage having a polarity in the direction of the transducer polarization, has a charging circuit which connects the transducers in a rest state to a common voltage source having a polarity in the direction of polarization of the transducers so that the transducers assume a state of contracted diameter. The circuit further includes a discharging circuit operated by a control input for each transducer operable for discharging an ink droplet from the nozzles after ink is drawn into the channels by operation of the charging circuit.

  • Patent number: 4396924
Abstract: A recording head for ink mosaic printers has a plurality of channels communicating with an ink supply each of which has an individually controllable electro-mechanical transducer operable to eject ink droplets from respective channels and each channel further having at least two nozzle openings through which the ink is ejected toward a carrier medium for achieving a finer pattern of droplets on the carrier medium for improved resolution and adaptability to different types of texts.

  • Patent number: 4148041
Abstract: An ink head printer is disclosed having an interchangeable ink supply tank detachably attachable to the printing head assembly to supply ink to the printing head. In order to eliminate air bubbles at the on set of use of the printing head assembly, the printing head is flushed with isoparaffin supplied from a flushing tank attached to the printing head in substitution for an ink supply tank.
