  • Patent number: 7668994
Abstract: In accordance to one aspect, a method for optimizing the effective data transmission rate in a bus system, in particular in automation technology is provided. A data telegram used in higher-order data networks based on the Internet protocol, with at least one data telegram, at least one data segment and/or at least one data section being generated and/or modified and/or deleted by at least one slave. The topology of the bus system can hereby be selected according to the application and is taken into account in the configuration of the data contained in the data telegrams, without infringing the protocol characteristics of the higher-order data network. The number of data telegrams required is hereby significantly reduced, in particular on communication links with maximum loading.

  • Patent number: 7574271
Abstract: A passenger transportation system, such as an escalator or moving walk, contains a circulating band, a driving station, and a reversing station. The driving station is arranged in the area of a first end of the passenger transportation system and has a slave control unit. The reversing station in the area of a second end of the passenger transportation system has a master control unit. For the purpose of exchanging data, the master control unit and the slave control unit are connected together by a data bus. The slave control unit has a first printed circuit board on which is mounted a first set of electronic components and which serves to transmit to the master control unit data concerning the functioning of the passenger transportation system. The master control unit has a second printed circuit board on which is mounted a second set of electronic components and which serves to analyze the data and control of the passenger transportation system.

  • Publication number: 20090086766
Abstract: There is described a method for transmitting synchronization messages in a communication network, the communication network comprising a plurality of network nodes communicating with one another, each containing an internal clock, which is timed with a node clock frequency assigned to the respective network node. The synchronization messages transmitted in the communication network serve to synchronize the times of the internal clocks of the network nodes and contain the pulse counter status of a synchronization clock operating at a predefined synchronization clock frequency. The pulse counter status is estimated by each network node and updated in the synchronization message. Changes in the synchronization clock frequency are taken into account when estimating the pulse counter status.

  • Publication number: 20090059947
Abstract: There is described a communication system for reliable communication between communication stations, wherein there is at least one communication connection between the communication stations, wherein the communication connection features at least two channels for transmitting payload data telegrams, wherein only one channel acts as primary channel for the communication at any time, and wherein the other channels are provided as backup channels. A status indicator in the payload data telegram is provided for the indication of information concerning which channel is primary channel or backup channel at a given time point, wherein the communication stations adopt as primary channel that channel for which, during receipt of the payload data telegrams, the most recent status change from backup channel to primary channel was detected by the communication stations.

  • Patent number: 7450607
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a system for communication in a data network (101), in particular switched Ethernet, and a user (102) in such a data network (101). To reduce the communication resources required for the transmission of telegrams (119-135) in the data network (101), it is proposed that time segments are defined, which are repeated cyclically at a basic clock rate, that telegrams (119-135) are each assigned a first identifier U, which allocates to the respective telegram (119-135) a group of n successive time segments for transmission of the respective telegram (119-135), whereby the group is repeated cyclically, that the telegrams (119-135) are each assigned a second identifier Z, which allocates to the respective telegram (119-135) an mth time segment in the sequence of n time segments of a group for transmission of the respective telegram (119-135), whereby 1?m?n and that the telegrams (119-135) are transmitted in the respectively assigned time segment.

  • Publication number: 20080117936
Abstract: There is provided a method and apparatus for stamping any Ethernet frames. Any Ethernet frame is provided with a time stamp, it being possible to use standard Ethernet controllers defined according to IEEE 802.X. This is achieved by the method in such a way that the stamp is applied between an Ethernet controller operated in RAW mode and a “Physical Layer” to an area of the Media Access Control (MAC) destination address, while the original MAC destination address is advantageously encoded in the remaining area.
