  • Publication number: 20110203474
Abstract: A fuze for a projectile having a firing chain has an interrupter for interruption of the firing chain. The interruptor is configured to snap from a safe position to an armed position when unlocked. A locking device is disposed to lock the interrupter in the safe position and to unlock the interrupter by way of an unlocking movement. The fuze is rendered compact and reliable in that the unlocking movement of the locking device is an axial movement.

  • Patent number: 7461596
Abstract: A safety and arming unit (10) for a spinning projectile fuze, which has a fuze body (12) and a bearing body (14), which define a spherical cavity (16) between them, in which a spherical rotor (18) is mounted such that it can rotate, in which rotor (18) a detonator (20) is provided. In order to make the safety and arming unit suitable for fuzes in weapon systems with extremely fast munition feed units, the rotor (18) can be surrounded by a rotor locking ring (28) in the safe position, prevents the rotor (18) from rotating through an acceleration ring (30) and a spring element (32) which connects the acceleration ring (30) to the rotor locking ring (28) in an interlocking manner, with the rotor locking ring (28) being formed with a slot (36) in order that it can be spread open by rotation and centrifugal forces into an open space (34).

  • Patent number: 7367268
Abstract: A safety and arming device (10) for a spinning projectile fuze, which has a fuze housing (12), which is in the form of a pot, and a bearing body (14) with a booster charge (16). A spherical rotor (42) with a detonator (44) is mounted between the fuze housing (12) and the bearing body (14). A radial groove (22) is formed in the fuze housing (12), and an annular groove (46) is formed in the rotor (42). A holding ring (28) is forced against the annular groove (46), which is axially offset with respect to the radial groove (22), when the safety and arming device (10) is in the safe position. The holding ring (28) is designed with a separating slot (30) and a further, shorter slot (32). The separating slot (30) and the further slot (32) extend at the same distance apart in the circumferential direction of the holding ring (28) and define annular segment jaws (40). The spring device (48) has a pair of cup springs (58), which jointly form a horizontal V-shaped spring profile.

  • Patent number: 6463855
Abstract: A fuse device for a mortar shell includes an impact weight carrying a detonation charge and arranged to impact against a firing pin when the mortar shell strikes a target. A safety arm locks the impact weight against movement toward the firing pin in a safety position. The safety arm is movable out of locking relationship with the impact arm to establish an armed condition of the fuse device. Energy for moving the safety arm is stored in a spring. That energy is stored after the mortar shell has been launched, because an impeller is rotated by an air flow generated by the moving mortar shell, and that impeller rotation is transmitted to the spring to store energy.

  • Patent number: 5916577
Abstract: The invention concerns cosmetic agents with condensates of plant and animal decomposition products, which can be used in cosmetic body care and cleansing preparations and which, in addition to the emulsifying effect, have essential skin-care properties. The object of the invention is to prepare cosmetic products from plant and animal starting materials, said products having substantial portions of original biological structures but being modified to such an extent that they are cosmetically acceptable owing to their neutral smell and pale color. According to the invention, the cosmetic agent is a product of a direct and mild (20 to 55.degree. C.; pH 7.5 to 8.5) decomposition of a biological starting material in an aqueous medium, subsequent condensation with a sub-stoechiometric amount of a C.sub.10 to C.sub.20 fatty acid halide or mixture and optionally subsequent etherification or esterification of the condensation product.

  • Patent number: 4653402
Abstract: A projectile fuse includes a carrier for an igniter. The carrier is held in a safety position by a safety element, which under the effect of centrifugal force moves to release the carrier. The safety element comprises a piston guided in a bore formed in the fuse body. The bore is filled with a flowable medium. The piston is provided with an orifice for enabling the medium to flow from one end of the piston to the other under the effect of the centrifugal force. The medium thus brakes the movement of the piston and creates a time delay before the carrier is released.
