Abstract: For separating and drying pellets from a suspension, centrifugal dryers have proved successful wherein a rotor equipped with conveyor blades and disposed vertically in an outside housing for collecting the liquid is enclosed coaxially by a hollow body formed of screen elements. The suspension of pellets and liquid is supplied continuously to the lower area of the space between the hollow body and the rotor. The pellets are transported upward by the conveyor blades rotating with the rotor while being thrown back and forth and dried between the conveyor blades and the screens. At the upper end of the rotor the dried pellets are thrown off. The liquid separated from the pellets passes through the screen jacket and flows out of the discharge port of the outside housing.

Abstract: In a filter centrifuge with a filter medium, a filter cake is formed following the introduction of a suspension. In a first filtration phase the suspension is exposed to centrifugal filtration a first filtration which dewaters by the inertia forces. In a second filtration phase, the cake is subjected to compressed gas filtration using frictional forces generated by a gas flow. In the second filtration phase, gas at atmospheric pressure flows through the filter cake and filter medium and is exhausted from a filtrate collector space. This space is composed of a gas space and a filtrate liquid space. To obtain flow through the solid cake at an increased pressure difference, it is proposed to provide the filter centrifuge in a pressure housing with a superatmospheric pressure controlled by a difference in filtrate liquid levels in the filtrate liquid space and the annular space following the filter. This liquid control prevents the penetration of filtrate liquid into the gas exhaust line.

Abstract: A method for accelerating the transfer of media between materials reacting in a fluidized bed in a centrifuge. The rotating fluidized bed increases the relative boundary layer velocities of the phases and assists in the transfer of material across the interface.

Abstract: A device for the acceleration of a reaction between media of solid and liquid phases comprising means for forming a fluidized bed, wherein the solid medium is held suspended in the liquid medium, and means for generating a centrifugal field for acting on the fluidized bed. The fluidized bed is defined between a rotating sieve drum and a first cylindrical sieve which is located within the sieve drum.
