  • Patent number: 11220785
Abstract: A tissue machine (1) has a Yankee (3) and a shoe roll (4) that forms a nip with the Yankee (3). The nip has a maximum extension from an entry point (7) to an exit point (8). A flexible belt (9) forms an outer circumference of the roll (4). A fabric (10) carries a fibrous web (W) to the nip and passes through the nip with the web. The fabric (10) reaches the circumference of the roll (4) at a first contact point (11) and wraps the roll (4) from the first contact point to the nip. A mechanical support (12) inside the belt (9) supports the belt (9) between the first contact point (11) and the nip. The fabric (10) wraps the roll (4) from the first contact point (11) by more than 80°. The invention also relates to a method of operating the machine.

  • Patent number: 10808359
Abstract: A method of making tissue paper is provided, in which a fibrous web is formed in a forming section and transferred to a Yankee drying cylinder in a non-dewatering transfer nip formed between the Yankee drying cylinder and a shoe roll. The shoe roll has a shoe that is deformable such that it can adapt to a cylindrical outer surface of the Yankee drying cylinder, and a rotatable flexible jacket arranged to run in a loop around the shoe. A structured carrier fabric runs around the shoe roll and has land areas and void areas facing the fibrous web. The length of the transfer nip is in the range of 30 mm -100 mm and the linear load in the transfer nip is in the range of 35 kN/m-120 kN/m. The peak pressure in the transfer nip lies in the range 2 MPa-8 MPa.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of making tissue paper in which a fibrous web (W) is formed in a forming section (2) and transferred to a Yankee drying cylinder (12) in a non-dewatering transfer nip (TN) formed between the Yankee drying cylinder (12) and a shoe roll (14). The Yankee drying cylinder (12) has a cylindrical outer surface (13) and it is arranged to be rotatable about an axis of rotation (A). The shoe roll (14) has a shoe (15) that is deformable such that it can adapt to the cylindrical outer surface (13) of the Yankee drying cylinder (12) and the shoe roll (14) also comprises a rotatable flexible jacket (16) that is arranged to run in a loop around the shoe (15). A structured carrier fabric (10) runs in a loop around the shoe roll and has land areas and void areas facing the fibrous web.

  • Patent number: 9181655
Abstract: The invention relates to an extended nip roll (5) capable of forming a press nip (N) with a counter roll (7) which press nip (N) has an extension in a machine direction when the extended nip roll (5) cooperates with the counter roll (7). The extended nip roll (5) comprises a flexible jacket; an elastic press body (13) arranged inside the flexible jacket. The top side (14) of the press body (13) is beveled in such a way that, in the machine direction, a working surface (15) of the top side has a downstream end (16) which, in the machine direction, is followed by an exit side surface (17) that diverges from the interior surface (11) of the flexible jacket (10). The press body (13) further has at least a first and a second internal pressure chamber (18, 19). The pressure chambers (18, 19) can be pressurized such that the press body (13) expands.
