  • Publication number: 20220141736
Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to, e.g., a method performed by a source access node relating to handover of a UE. The source access node sends to a target access node, an initial handover preparation message with a first explicit indicator for the target access node to request an enhanced Make-Before-Break Handover. The source access node receives an handover preparation response message from the target access node, with a second explicit indicator accepting or rejecting the requested enhanced Make-Before-Break Handover. Further, the source access node selects a possible fallback mechanism, upon reception of the handover preparation response message from the target access node indicating rejection or no support of enhanced Make-Before-Break Handover.

  • Publication number: 20220124566
Abstract: A method performed in a User Equipment, UE, for handling handover from a source access node to a target access node is provided. The UE receives (501) a handover command message from the source access node. The handover command message includes parameters required for deriving a security context associated with the target access node. The UE establishes (502) a radio connection with the target access node. When detecting (503) that a security context switching criterion is fulfilled, the UE stops (504) to use a security context associated with the source access node.

  • Publication number: 20220124565
Abstract: A method performed by a User Equipment, UE, to perform handover from a source access node to a target access node is provided. The UE, the source access node and 5the target access node are operating in a wireless communications network. The UE receives (601) a handover command message from the source access node. The UE establishes (602) a target radio connection with the target access node, and determines (603) whether or not a source cell release criterion is fulfilled. When the source cell release criterion is determined to be fulfilled, the UE releases (604) a source radio 10connection with the source access node.

  • Publication number: 20220095187
Abstract: After receiving a handover command (22) that commands a wireless device (16) to perform a make-before-break handover (24), the wireless device (16) continues to receive from a source link (20-0) downlink data packets for an unacknowledged mode bearer (21), until after the wireless device (16) establishes a connection with the target link (20-1) as part of the handover. After the wireless device (16) establishes the connection with the target link (20-1), the wireless device (16) receives from the target link (20-1) downlink data packets for the unacknowledged mode bearer (21). The wireless device (16) preserves a downlink data packet sequence number receiver status for the unacknowledged mode bearer (21), by using the same downlink data packet sequence number receiver status for the unacknowledged mode bearer (21) before and after the handover.

  • Patent number: 11272479
Abstract: According to some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device comprises receiving first paging information in a downlink control information (DCI) of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). The wireless device is uniquely identified by a full identifier of length L bits and the first paging information in the DCI comprises one or more short identifiers of length K bits, where K is less than L. The method further comprises determining whether one of the one or more short identifiers matches a portion of the full identifier of the wireless device. Upon determining one of the one or more short identifiers matches a portion of the full identifier of the wireless device, the method further comprises decoding second paging information in a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) associated with the DCI and determining the second paging information includes paging information targeted for the wireless device.

  • Publication number: 20220050000
Abstract: According to some embodiments, methods are provided to operate a base station of a wireless communication network. For example, parameters may be generated that define a plurality of potential PDCCH monitoring occasions and that define a plurality of paging occasions, wherein each one of the plurality of paging occasions includes a respective subset of the plurality of potential PDCCH monitoring occasions, wherein consecutive paging occasions are spaced apart in time with at least one of the potential PDCCH monitoring occasions therebetween not being included in any of the plurality of paging occasions. The parameters are transmitted over a radio interface to a wireless device. Related methods of operating wireless devices, related base stations, and related wireless devices are also discussed.

  • Publication number: 20220027281
Abstract: A data processing system includes a memory system, a processor and a cache system. The cache system includes a cache and a data encoder associated with the cache. The data encoder encodes blocks of uncompressed data having a particular data size for storing in the memory system. The processor is configured, when an array of data has a data size equal to the particular data size or is able to be combined with one or more other arrays of data already written to the cache to provide a plurality of arrays of data having a data size that is equal to the particular data size, to output the array of data from the processor to the data encoder, bypassing the cache, for encoding as or as part of a block of data having the particular data size.

  • Publication number: 20210410027
Abstract: A method performed by a source access node for performing data forwarding at handover of a UE from a source cell to a target cell in a wireless communications network is provided. When a criterion for data forwarding is fulfilled, the source access node obtains a trigger for downlink data forwarding. When receiving the trigger, the source access node initiates downlink data forwarding to the UE via the target access node.

  • Publication number: 20210345205
Abstract: A method performed by a target access node for handling data packets in a handover of a User Equipment, UE, from a source cell served by a source access node, to a target cell, served by the target access node in a wireless communications network is provided. The target access node receives a status report of last received data packet in the UE from the source access node. The target access node performs a data packet duplication check based on the information comprised in the status report. The target access node then sends to the UE, only data packets which have not already been received by the UE from the source access node, based on the outcome of the duplication check.

  • Patent number: 10798678
Abstract: According to a first aspect of embodiments herein, the object is achieved by a method performed by a User Equipment, UE, for handling a paging message in a wireless communications network. The UE configures (201) the UE to derive a group paging identifier to be associated with the UE from a first identifier associated with the UE, and to use the derived group paging identifier for identifying group paging identifier matches in response-driven paging, irrespective of UE state and initiator of the paging. The UE receives (202) a paging message from the wireless communications network. The paging message comprises the group paging identifier associated with the UE. The UE then derives (203) the group paging identifier associated with the UE from the first identifier associated with the UE. By means of the derived group paging identifier the UE identifies (204) group paging identifier matches in response-driven paging, irrespective of said UE states and initiator of the paging.

  • Patent number: 10747681
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for address translation invalidation are provided. In an apparatus having address translation storage which stores merged address translation information for multiple address translation stages, a set of counters are provided to hold a set of counter values. Entries in the address translation storage are stored with identifiers of first and second counters selected from the set of counters in dependence on respective context information for a first stage and a second stage of address translation together with a counter value of each counter. In response to an invalidation request specifying a first or second addressing scheme invalidation context a counter of the set of counters is selected in dependence on the first or second addressing scheme invalidation context and its value is modified.
