  • Patent number: 11130742
Abstract: Copoly(imide oxetane) materials are disclosed that can exhibit a low surface energy while possessing the mechanical, thermal, chemical and optical properties associated with polyimides. The copoly(imide oxetane)s are prepared using a minor amount of fluorinated oxetane-derived oligomer with sufficient fluorine-containing segments of the copoly(imide oxetane)s migrate to the exterior surface of the polymeric material to yield low surface energies. Thus the coatings and articles of manufacture made with the copoly(imide oxetane)s of this invention are characterized as having an anisotropic fluorine composition. The low surface energies can be achieved with very low content of fluorinated oxetane-derived oligomer. The copolymers of this invention can enhance the viability of polyimides for many applications and may be acceptable where homopolyimide materials have been unacceptable.

  • Patent number: 11113700
Abstract: Creating an association of a user identifier linked to a mobile device with the presentation of content. A computing device may create an association between the presentation of content on a presentation device and a user identifier linked to a mobile device in response to the presentation of content. The computing device may detect a presentation event which indicates a connection between a user identifier linked to the mobile device and the presentation of content. The computing device may then send a presentation event message to a network server. Subsequently, a predefined event may be detected via the mobile device, and in response, a predefined event message, including the user identifier linked to the mobile device and the predefined event, may be sent to the network server.

  • Publication number: 20210123966
Abstract: An approach to detecting partial discharge events involves retrofitting an electrical system to include a capacitive sensor configured to capacitively sense partial discharge events of a component of the electrical system. The capacitive sensor has a first electrical conductor that forms a first terminal of the capacitive sensor, a second electrical conductor that forms a second terminal of the capacitive sensor, and a dielectric that separates the first electrical conductor and the second electrical conductor. The capacitive sensor generates an electrical sensor signal at an output of the capacitive sensor in response to the partial discharge event. The electrical sensor signal is converted to an optical signal and the optical signal is processed to detect an occurrence of the partial discharge event.

Abstract: A sensor system includes a sensor network comprising at least one optical fiber having one or more optical sensors. At least one of the optical sensors is arranged to sense vibration of an electrical device and to produce a time variation in light output in response to the vibration. A detector generates an electrical time domain signal in response to the time variation in light output. An analyzer acquires a snapshot frequency component signal which comprises one or more time varying signals of frequency components of the time domain signal over a data acquisition time period. The analyzer detects a condition of the electrical device based on the snapshot frequency component signal.

  • Patent number: 10918751
Abstract: A method for decontaminating a tube includes positioning an antenna at least partially within the tube. The tube is positioned at least partially within a living body. The method also includes decontaminating the tube by causing the antenna to emit electromagnetic waves having a frequency from about 10 GHz to about 100 GHz for a time duration that is less than or equal to 60 seconds. The electromagnetic waves cause a temperature of the living body proximate to the tube to increase from about 0.1° C. to about 3° C. so as to not substantially damage the living body.

  • Publication number: 20210023641
Abstract: Embodiments of a high speed laser hot wire spraying system are disclosed. In one embodiment, a laser subsystem includes a laser power oscillator and a laser focusing device to generate a laser beam directed toward a substrate. The laser focusing device includes a high velocity coaxial gas nozzle to direct, coaxially with the laser beam, a stream of inert gas toward the substrate. A hot wire subsystem includes a power supply and a wire feeding device to feed a consumable metal wire toward the laser beam while resistively pre-heating a distal portion of the consumable metal wire. The laser beam provides energy to liquefy the distal portion of the consumable metal wire upon intersecting the laser beam. The stream of inert gas has a velocity to cause the distal portion of the consumable metal wire to be sprayed as liquefied particles onto a surface of the substrate.
