  • Publication number: 20060005480
Abstract: A door member comprising a frame having a first side and a second side, opposite the first side, a core positioned within the frame, and a molded skin attached to the first side of the frame. The skin is prepared from a molding compound which, when molded, has a shrinkage of between about ?0.0003 to about +0.0015. The molding compound comprises a resin system comprising a curable polyester resin, a co-curable unsaturated monomer, and at least two low profile additives. The molding compound also comprises at least about 30 percent by weight, based on the weight of the molding compound, of filler material, and fibrous reinforcement in an amount of less than about 35 weight percent, based on the weight of the molding compound.

  • Patent number: 5262299
Abstract: A method and compounds useful for this method are described for enzyme-amplified signal detection in analytical assays requiring extremely high detection sensitivity which uses a substrate capable of being transformed by an enzyme from a compound which does not form a luminescent lanthanide chelate into a product which forms a luminescent lanthanide chelate. The method in which a substrate not capable of forming a highly luminescent lanthanide chelate is enzymatically altered to produce a product which forms a highly luminescent lanthanide chelate and hence is particularly useful in time-resolved luminescence analysis as required in many different heterogeneous or homogeneous assay formats is described herein.

  • Patent number: 4448101
Abstract: A cutter for sheet materials, packing or cushioning materials, and the like, comprises an elongate, hollow cutter bar or housing having a spring blade pivotally mounted therein, with the upper edge of the blade positioned in a longitudinal slot in the bar. A circular knife is slidably carried on the bar, and includes a cutting edge which engages the blade to shear the sheet therebetween as the circular knife is moved along the bar. The blade is normally biased into a safety position, wherein the upper edge of the blade is retracted into the bar slot. Engagement between the circular knife and the blade automatically shifts the adjacent portion of the blade into a cutting position with the knife, wherein the upper edge of the blade is extended from the retracted, storage position to a cutting position, flush with the upper surface of the cutter bar to cleanly and evenly shear the material between the blade and the knife.

  • Patent number: 4069727
Abstract: The separation of label tape formed of oriented thermoplastic polymer fibers into individual labels having wash-durable ends, by progressively melting the fibers, in a transverse zone of the tape, beginning at one face of the tape, while also progressively forcing the molten polymer, in a direction diagonally away from this zone and toward the opposite face of the tape, into the interstices between the unmolten fibers and with a portion of the polymer forced along said opposite face, using a heated beveled blade, having a blunt leading edge and chilling the molten polymer at said opposite face with a cold platen opposite the blade, to form a polymer anchor at said opposite face, and anchor the fibers in the polymer which serves as a matrix.
