    Abstract: The invention provides a protective shield for an elongate conductor. The protective shield includes a textile sleeve of interlaced yarns operable to surround a conductor product. The protective shield also includes at least one drain wire laid-in between the interlaced yarns. The at least one drain wire extends longitudinally along the textile sleeve for protecting the conductor product from electromagnetic interference.
