  • Patent number: 11788463
Abstract: This invention relates to cleaning the induction systems, the combustion chambers and exhaust systems of internal combustion engines. And, more particularly, to chemicals and mixtures of chemicals for removing the different types of carbon deposits encountered in internal combustion engines used in “road vehicles”. Carbon deposits were taken from the induction systems of these road vehicles for the purpose of bench testing such carbon and product development. More specifically, chemicals (i.e., solvents) and chemical mixes (i.e., solutions) have been accurately tested on such harvested carbon deposits for their ability to remove the various types of carbon deposits that accumulate within road vehicle internal combustion engines. Additionally this invention also relates to apparatus for delivering chemicals and chemical mixes.

  • Patent number: 11781827
Abstract: The present device is an electronically controlled safety system for use in firearms, comprising a shape memory actuator configured to connect a mechanical locking interface to a trigger mechanism interface comprising a point of connection to a firearm's trigger mechanism. This shape memory actuator can be controlled by use of an authentication system comprised of an RFID module and a control module. The user of the firearm can provide authorization to place the firearm in the armed position by placing an RFID tag having an activation code near the RFID module, which can then activate the shape memory actuator through the control module. When the mechanical locking interface is connected to the trigger mechanism interface a firearm's trigger mechanism is locked in place and the firearm is in a safe position and when the mechanical locking interface is not connected to the trigger mechanism is in an armed position.

  • Patent number: 11603961
Abstract: A crossbar assembly for facilitating isolation of a sensor assembly from vibration of a payload mounting system on a vehicle comprising an outer crossbar segment, an inner crossbar segment, an isolator, and a damper. The outer crossbar segment comprises a payload mount interface operable to mount to a payload mount, and an outer isolator interface operable to mount to an isolator. The inner crossbar segment comprises a structure interface to mount to a structure, and an inner isolator interface operable to mount to the isolator. The isolator can be supported by the outer and inner crossbar segments. The damper is adjacent the isolator. The isolator is operable to deform in response to relative movement between the outer and inner crossbar segments. The isolator operates to partially decouple the outer crossbar segment from the inner crossbar segment and the damper dampens vibrations propagating between the outer and inner crossbar segments.

  • Patent number: 11499375
Abstract: Tools, for example, fixed cutter drill bits, may be manufactured to include hard composite portions having reinforcing particles dispersed in a continuous binder phase and auxiliary portions that are more machinable than the hard composite portions. For example, a tool may include a hard composite portion having a machinability rating 0.2 or less; and an auxiliary portion having a machinability rating of 0.6 or greater in contact with the hard composite portion. The boundary or interface between the hard composite portion and the auxiliary portion may be designed so that upon removal of the most or all of the auxiliary portion the resultant tool has a desired geometry without having to machine the hard composite portion.

  • Patent number: 11415043
Abstract: The present invention relates to the carbon deposit buildup in the internal combustion engine, or more specifically the removal of such carbon from the induction system, combustion chamber, and the exhaust system. The method is one in which a high volumetric flow rate of chemical/chemical mixes are used to remove a greater amount of carbon from the engine. These preferred chemical/chemical mix flow rates are 6 to 9 Gallons per hour, which is approximately 9 times the volumetric flow rate of the industry standard of 1 gallon per hour.

  • Patent number: 11360039
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses are provided herein that track an integrated deviation of a physical property of a material that corresponds to a variation or defect in the material. In one embodiment, molten steel begins to solidify and move past an instrumented region of a mold. Sensors in the mold can detect a deviation in temperature of the instrumented region of the mold that signifies a variation or defect in the surface of the slab material as it solidifies. The systems, methods, and apparatuses track the integrated temperature deviation to more clearly visualize defects that may otherwise not be detectable by simply observing the temperatures of the mold and slab material in real time.

  • Patent number: 11344747
Abstract: A radiation treatment planning system and method for generating plans to treat plural target volumes, each associated with a prescribed dose, does not require delivery of radiation to every target volume from every beam direction. Allowing target volumes to be omitted for some control points facilitates generation of treatment plans that deliver less radiation dose to non-target tissues by allowing beam shaping to more closely fit the remaining target volumes. Simulated annealing using an objective function may be applied to determine parameters such as the number of control points for which a target volume is not targeted.

  • Publication number: 20220135900
Abstract: The engine lubricating system can become contaminated with carbon deposits and sludge. Sludge is where the combustion by-products that have entered the oil base saturate this oil base, thus forming a thick carbon rich substance. Sludge is not wanted within the engine. Sludge and or carbon deposits in the motor oil cause problems. Such carbon deposits form in the motor oil from heat, pressure, and namely combustion gases that have leaked pasted the piston rings. Turpentine and terpenes, hereafter referred to as “terpenes”, have shown that these chemicals can breakdown carbon which has been deposited within the engine's oil base.

  • Patent number: 11291858
Abstract: Generating a plan for radiation treatment of multiple target volumes such as, for example, multiple brain tumors, involves optimizing a grouping of the target volumes into subsets and generating treatment plans for each subset. Resulting treatment plans may minimize radiation dose to tissues outside of the target volumes. A radiation treatment planning system may be configured to operate in this manner and to upload control signals which cause a radiation therapy device such as a linear accelerator to execute the radiation treatment plans.
