  • Publication number: 20200350962
Abstract: A method of updating spatial filters in a radio network comprising at least two transmit nodes each in radio communication with at least one receive node on a Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) radio channel, comprises transmitting, from the respective transmit node, first reference signals precoded by a first spatial filter of the respective transmit node; and receiving, from the receive nodes, second reference signals that are precoded using a second spatial filter of the respective receive node and an error matrix of the respective receive node. The second spatial filter depends on a channel estimate based on the transmitted first reference signals. The error matrix is indicative of an error of the first and second spatial filters in equalizing the MIMO radio channel.

  • Publication number: 20200314904
Abstract: A method performed by a station for enabling an Uplink, UL, transmission to an access point in a wireless communications network is provided. The station determines a UL transmission rank for an UL transmission to the access point. Then, the station transmits, to the access point, a message on a contention-based transmission resource in the wireless communications network comprising information indicating the determined UL transmission rank. A station for enabling an UL transmission to an access point in a wireless communications network is also provided. Furthermore, an access point and a method performed therein for enabling an UL transmission from a station in a wireless communications network are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20200295887
Abstract: In wireless device-to-device, D2D, communication data are transmitted directly from a first wireless device to a second wireless device. In response to the direct transmission of data, the second wireless device transmits feedback data indicating at least one quality of the data received in the second wireless device. More precisely, according to the invention, a radio access network node controls the direct transmission of data by means of downlink control information to the first and second wireless devices, and the feedback data are received in the radio access network node. The radio access network node preferably also uses the received feedback to control at least one of the first and second wireless devices.

  • Publication number: 20200296762
Abstract: A technique for transmitting and receiving data in a radio communication from a second radio device to a first radio device is described. As to a method aspect of the technique, one or more radio resources are determined based on radio signals received at the first radio device. The one or more radio resources comprise at least one spatial stream among different spatial streams receivable at the first radio device. A status message indicative of the one or more determined radio resources is transmitted to the second radio device. The data from the second radio device is received at the first radio device on at least one radio resource depending on the one or more radio resources indicated in the transmitted status message.

  • Publication number: 20200205197
Abstract: A network node (300), a wireless device (304) and methods therein, for handling interference in a wireless network where a Listen-Before-Talk, LBT, scheme is employed to control transmissions. The network node (300) determines whether a first wireless device (302) is compatible with a second wireless device (304) at a serving network node (300) so that uplink signals transmitted (3:1A, 3:2A) from the wireless devices (302, 304) are spatially separable at the serving network node (300). An LBT-related message is then transmitted (3:4A) to the first wireless device (302), which message indicates that the wireless devices (302, 304) are compatible or incompatible at the serving network node (300). The second wireless device (304) is then able to detect (3:4A), i.e. overhear, the LBT-related message and use it as a basis for deciding (3:5) whether to perform a transmission or not.

  • Patent number: 10687244
Abstract: A first transmit device (200), a relay device (202) and methods therein, for supporting wireless communication between transmit devices over a shared radio resource in a wireless network. The first transmit device (200) records (2:1B) source identities and destination identities of detected transmissions of data made by other transmit devices (204). When an own transmission of data is performed, the first transmit device (200) appends (2:2A) a report indicating the source identity and the destination identity of each detected transmission of data. By receiving (2:2B) transmissions of data with such appended reports from various transmit devices (200, 204), the relay device (202) is able to identify (2:3) two transmit devices (204A, 204B) that are not able to communicate directly with each other, and to forward (2:5) any transmission(s) (2:4) of data between the two identified transmit devices.

  • Patent number: 10498502
Abstract: This disclosure relates a method and a base station for network sharing using carrier aggregation. The base station of a multi-carrier system comprises a multiple of cells, where each cell corresponds to a carrier that is associated with a PLMN. The base station receives (302, S-424, S-516, S-616) a UE request with information of a UE (402, 502, 602), where a first cell of said multiple of cells corresponds to a first carrier. The base station determines (304, S-428, S-520, S-626) based on base station settings and/or UE information, whether an other carrier associated with a different PLMN is available to said UE. If so, the base station sends (306, S-430, S-440, S-524, S-530) a resource configuration message destined for said UE (402, 502, 602), enabling said UE to configure said other carrier as a SCC. Better coverage, peak rates and capacity, without suffering from the drawbacks of existing RAN sharing techniques, are provided.
