  • Patent number: 9288237
Abstract: A protocol conversion gateway and a method therein for enabling a client, which client does not support a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) transport protocol, to communicate with a SIP proxy are provided. The method comprises receiving a first SIP message, over a non-standard SIP transport protocol, from the client. The method further comprises inserting a SIP address of the protocol conversion gateway in at least one header of the received SIP message, and sending the SIP message to the SIP proxy over a standard SIP transport protocol.

  • Patent number: 9204092
Abstract: A first user device establishes a video telephony session with a second user device over a best effort network. The voice quality for the video telephony session is upgraded by establishing a voice call with the second user device over a telephony network providing a quality of service guarantee for the voice call, and coupling the voice call over the telephony network with the video telephony session.

  • Patent number: 7542472
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of carrying out a transaction involving transmission of data over a link between and a mobile terminal and a gateway. The data is in the form of a plurality of data messages wherein each message comprises at least one data packet. The number of messages is not predetermined. The method comprising the steps of: the mobile terminal acknowledging receipt of data packets so as to provide a reliable connection; the gateway notifying the receiver of the last data packet in each data message; and the sender notifying the receiver of the last data message. The invention is particularly applicable to transactions carried out according to the Wireless Transaction Protocol.

  • Publication number: 20070050756
Abstract: A self-organising software for controlling a device, which software contains at least two components. Each component includes at least one interface for connecting with other components, wherein each of the components itself contains information defining component rules. The rules contained by the components define how components can be connected with each other components so that no external rule databases are necessary.

  • Publication number: 20050283771
Abstract: The techniques described ease the work of garbage collectors by reducing the garbage produced. These embodiments combine the data-flow analysis of native compilers with an extension of the Java Virtual Machine (JVM). A special bytecode is inserted into the original bytecode to explicitly free unused objects. As a result, the garbage collector does not see the object that was explicitly reclaimed and the object doesn't reserve memory after it is not used anymore. The memory footprint of the JVM decreases and the responsiveness is better because the garbage collector has less work and, thus, it interrupts the application more rarely and for less time.

  • Publication number: 20050240795
Abstract: A method and apparatus for resource management are disclosed. The method includes detecting a change in availability of one or more resources, determining whether a dependency exists between the resources and a managed component, and propagating the change in availability to the managed component when a dependency exists. The apparatus for resource management includes a media manager adapted to detect a change in availability of one or more resources, a resource inventory having information indicative of one or more dependencies between the resources and one or more managed components, and a management agent adapted to propagate the change in availability to a managed component when a dependency exists between the managed component and the resources.

  • Publication number: 20040103308
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for automatically configuring a gateway to allow access to a network element through a public access communication network. Automatic configuration of the gateway involves identifying the network or device to be accessed using a service registry. The location of configuration files for configuring the gateway is transferred to the gateway as part of the identification process. The gateway automatically accesses and installs the configuration files. Installation of the configuration files on the gateway configures the gateway to provide access between the network element and terminals connected to the gateway through a public access communication network.
