Patent number: 9446214Abstract: A patient interface device is provided that includes a patient sealing assembly, such as a mask having a rigid shell and a cushion coupled to the rigid shell, and a forehead support movably coupled to the patient sealing assembly. The forehead support is moved by an wedge-type adjustment mechanism such that linear translation of the wedge moves the forehead support among the plurality of positions and fixes the forehead support in a desired position among the plurality of positions.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2012Date of Patent: September 20, 2016Assignee: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS N.V.Inventors: Justin Edward Rothermel, Chad Zediker, Steven Charles Stegman, Christopher James Kadamus, Gabor Zanoni, Mark Bui Breneman

Patent number: 9360155Abstract: A microphone is mounted to apparatus in order to receive sound from a sound source. The apparatus has a microphone clamp to secure different microphones to a variety of musical instruments and other sound sources and may be used to directly mount a microphone to a variety of clamping surfaces. The mounting apparatus incorporates a dual jaw design to allow for easy, fast, and secure mounting to the clamping surface. The apparatus supports a quick release mechanism for easy and fast engagement and disengagement of the dual jaws, consequently reducing time needed to securely clamp and remove the mounting apparatus with the clamping surface. The release mechanism may include a dowel release having a hole through which the jaw stud is situated. The hole has two curved surfaces so that one of jaws may be moved without turning the jaw stud when the dowel release is depressed.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2013Date of Patent: June 7, 2016Assignee: Shure Acquisition Holdings, Inc.Inventors: Jon Caleb Halverson, Walter Timothy Harwood, Paul Mark Jacobs, Martin K. Reiling, John P. Devlin, Gabor Zanoni

Publication number: 20150092968Abstract: An earphone assembly for an in-ear listening device and method for filtering a portion of an audible sound output are disclosed. An earphone comprises a housing configured to receive a nozzle, a plurality of drivers each having an acoustical output disposed within the housing, and an elongated passageway disposed within the housing configured to filter at least an audible portion of a sound wave output from at least one of the plurality of drivers. The method comprises providing an elongated passageway to provide an increased path length and connecting an output of the at least one driver to the elongated passageway to configure the sound output to be received within the elongated passageway to acoustically filter a portion of the sound output from the at least one driver.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 9, 2014Publication date: April 2, 2015Inventors: Scott Charles Grinker, Paris Nicholas Tsangaris, Steven R. Grosz, Kyle Patrick Glavan, Lajos Frohlich, Gabor Zanoni, Mark Bui Breneman
