  • Patent number: 11979315
Abstract: Systems and techniques for information centric network (ICN) interworking are described herein. For example, a request may be received at a convergence layer of a node. Here, the request originates from an application on the node. A network protocol, from several available to the node, may be determined to transmit the request. The node then transmits the request via the selected network protocol.

  • Patent number: 11902036
Abstract: Systems and methods of providing policy and charging control in an information-centric network are described. An interest packet is transmitted from a content consumer to a holder through a gNB, ICN-PoA and ICN-GW. The interest packet has a prefix identifying content to be retrieved and a type field indicating an interest packet. The ICN-PoA modifies the interest packet to include a type of service (TS) field having the identity of the consumer and then transmitted to the ICN-GW when the content is neither created nor cached inside the 5G network. A data packet that includes the prefix, a type field indicating a data packet and the TS field is returned from the ICN-GW. The data packet is modified by the ICN-PoA to remove the TS field and transmitted to the consumer. The interest and data packets are logged and reported to an ICN-CF for generation of charging records.

  • Patent number: 11665777
Abstract: Systems and methods of using machine-learning to improve communications across different networks are described. A CIRN node identifies whether it is within range of a source and destination node in a different network using explicit information or a machine-learning classification model. A neural network is trained to avoid interference using rewards associated with reduced interference or retransmission levels in each network or improved throughput at the CIRN node. A machine-learning scheduling algorithm determines a relay mode of the CIRN node for source and destination node transmissions. The scheduling algorithm is based on the probability of successful transmission between the source and destination nodes multiplied by a collaboration score for successful transmission and the probability of unsuccessful transmission of the particular packet multiplied by a collaboration score for unsuccessful transmission.

  • Patent number: 11659066
Abstract: Systems and techniques for dynamic computation in an information centric network (ICN) are described herein. An interest packet to perform a computation may be received at a first interface of an ICN node. The ICN node may then perform a lookup in a forwarding information base (FIB) to identify a second interface to forward the interest packet. The interest packet may be forwarded on the second interface. Upon receipt of a data packet on the second interface in response to the interest packet, the ICN node may update an entry in the FIB for the second interfaces with a processing payload included in the data packet. The ICN node may then transmit the data packet downstream towards the originator of the interest packet.

  • Publication number: 20220337519
Abstract: System and techniques for Information Centric Network (ICN) routing are described herein. An ICN node receives a routing packet—which is a link layer packet corresponding to a link of the ICN node—that includes an ICN name and a routing metric.
