  • Patent number: 7367981
Abstract: Skin dermabrasion device by gently contacting the skin with an abrasive, comprising a handleable housing (10) and driving means for the abrasive. This device is intended in particular for cosmetic treatments of the epidermis called microepidermabrasion. The device comprises a curved abrasive surface (30) held by a support (32) mounted in or on the housing (10, 18) for an oscillatory motion allowing the oscillation of the curved abrasive surface (30) about its axis. A support surface (40) surrounds the abrasive surface (30) on at least two opposing sides leaving a gap to allow the oscillating motion. The device is arranged in such a way as to allow, by the application of the support surface (44) against the skin (50) and around the region of the skin to be treated, the gentle contact of this region of skin with the oscillating abrasive surface.

  • Patent number: 6497702
Abstract: The invention concerns a probe for applying a high frequency electromagnetic energy flux on the skin through a mixture of conductive gel and a treatment product, designed to cause the treatment product to penetrate into the skin. The probe is provided with a non-conductive bearing surface (14), having a plurality of openings (6) around or in the proximity of which inductor elements (5) arranged in successive layers emit an electromagnetic field. The openings (6) emerge through an orifice (3) and contain the gel/treatment product mixture whereof the penetration into the skin is activated by the electromagnetic field. Advantageously, the probe further comprises at least one source of laser electromagnetic radiation (8) arranged inside or aligned with at least one opening (4) emerging in the bearing surface (14), so as to act jointly with the electromagnetic radiation emitted by the inductor element (5).

  • Patent number: 5849009
Abstract: An applicator probe (10) for applying a high-frequency electromagnetic energy flux to the skin through a conducting gel, the applicator probe having a non-conducting contact surface (14) which is applied to the skin. This surface includes a plurality of discrete electromagnetic emission points or areas (16) defined by parts of the turns of a coil (12) which is set back from the surface when the applicator probe is in use. The applicator probe according to the invention consists of a flexible sheet which is able to conform to the part of the body onto which it is applied. The flexible sheet includes a non-conductive lower internal portion (or "sole") and a non-conductive upper/external portion (or "back"). At least the lower portion is a sole (14) provided with a row of cavities and which forms the contact surface. The cavities contain the conducting gel which is applied to the skin. The generally flat turns of the coil are arranged in a sandwich configuration between the openwork sole (14) and the back.

  • Patent number: 5522814
Abstract: The method of treating the skin (2), in particular long-lasting depilation or hair regrowth treatment, involves inducing a high-frequency electromagnetic current through the skin by means of a conductive gel (3) loaded with treating product and applied to the skin at the desired location, the electromagnetic current causing the product to penetrate the pores of the skin. The apparatus comprises a handleable member (1) making contact with the skin (2) and having a non-conductive body (10, 12) provided with a rectangular contact surface (17) having a row of individual conductive points (15) for electromagnetic emission. Said points (15) are exposed through openings in the surface, preferably recessed with respect to the latter, to make contact with loaded conductive gel (3) applied to the skin. An electric circuit (26) supplies pure emissive high-frequency current to the emission points (15), which emit it through the gel (3).
