  • Patent number: 5280828
Abstract: A speed governor is enclosed within a generally cylindrical housing which defines an interior cylindrical surface. A rotor is rotatably supported within the enclosure of the housing and is coupled to a power coupling belt by a pulley formed in the rotor shaft. A pair of weighted arms are pivotally secured to the rotor forming a pair of centrifugal counterweights. A coil spring is commonly coupled between the counterweights to provide a drawing force urging the counterweights to a collapsed inward position. Each counterweight supports a friction pad on its outer surface facing the cylindrical surface of the governor housing.

  • Patent number: 4655723
Abstract: A child's activity ring toy having first and second concentric ring portions, at least a part of at least one of the ring portions having thread segments along a multiple screw path with adjacent thread segments of adjacent screw paths overlapping in the axial direction. A figure is mounted on this threaded part of the ring with an opening therein configured for engaging a next thread segment in the axial direction as a previous thread segment is disengaged.

  • Patent number: 4510590
Abstract: An inertial phonograph device having a flywheel (50) carrying a record member (56) with a plurality of interleaved sound tracks pre-recorded to match the rundown speed of the flywheel (50). A constant predetermined rotational force is imparted to the flywheel (50) by means of a sector gear (82) selectively engaging a pinion (58) on the shaft (52) of the flywheel (50), the sector gear (82) being pivoted to its start position by the force of a spring (106). The sector gear (82) is pivoted against the force of the spring (106), out of engagement with the pinion (58), by means of a pull string (84) passing through a sector clutch (96), and, after engagement of the sector gear (82) with the pinion (58), rotation is restricted by a brake shoe (120) coacting with the flywheel (50) until the brake shoe (120) and sector gear (82) are released by the action of the pull string (84) and the sector clutch (96).

  • Patent number: 4413441
Abstract: A multiple function doll is disclosed which includes a controlled wetting function. Wetting is effected automatically whenever the doll is placed on a toy toilet. The wetting function is controlled by a pinch valve which prevents the flow of water from a reservoir to a wetting orifice. Placing the doll on a toy toilet automatically opens the pinch valve. The doll also includes a hand clapping function which is driven by a spring motor. The spring motor is in turn controlled by a switch mechanism which permits a child to start and stop the hand clapping.

  • Patent number: 4128949
Abstract: A toy clock having a housing with a base portion for supporting the clock face thereof in a vertical position, the clock face having an hour hand and a minute hand proportionately coupled and rotatable, the rotatin thereof simultaneously effecting proportional rotation of a coaxial pair of co-planar disc surfaces to effect a digital readout corresponding to the position of the dials. The clock is provided with a rear compartment which houses a conveyor operated by rotation of the dials to elevate marbles from a given location to a marble storage rack in the upper rear portion in the housing. A tuned escapement or release mechanism permits a number of marbles, corresponding to the number indicated by the hour hand, to be released sequentially along a trackway viewable from the front, the track providing a path of travel for the marbles under the force of gravity with periodic interceptions by pivotally supported animated figures to the lower portion of the housing.

A constant predetermined rotational force is imparted to the flywheel by means of a sector gear selectively engaging a pinion on the shaft of the flywheel, the sector gear being pivoted under the force of a spring.
