  • Patent number: 5779683
Abstract: An injector module (40) and a one- or two-component syringe comprising the same, the module including a cylindrical barrel (41), a needle (43) extending from the end thereof, and a protective sleeve (42) for said needle. The sleeve consists of a single rigid member axially slidable over the cylindrical barrel (41). The cylindrical barrel is provided with a skirt (46) with at least one flexible tab (47) engageable with an inner ring-shaped rib (50) of the rigid cylindrical sleeve to prevent the return of the sleeve once it has been moved forward. For this purpose, the flexible tabs (47) comprise a slanted end (47a) and a rounded edge (47b) which engage said inner rib.

  • Patent number: 5569191
Abstract: The invention concerns a device for the preparation of a medicinal solution from two components, one of which is in powder, lyophilisate or liquid form and the other a dilutant or a liquid solvent. These components respectively are charged in a rear container (11) and a front container (13), each of which has an opening closed off by a stopper-piston-dish, which is axially movable. Both these stopper-piston-dishes (19, 24) are connected by a conveyance shaft (15) adapted to ensure a rigid, tight and sterile coupling between the two stopper-piston-dishes (19, 24) when the device (10) is in a charging position, and to define a channel between both these containers (11, 13) when the device is in a position of use.

  • Patent number: 5533994
Abstract: The bottle (10) includes a narrowed neck (12) closed by a sealing body (29) provided with a radial channel (31) mounted on a capsule (32) sitting on said neck (12). The capsule (32) includes a connecting piece (34) protected by a cap (39). The bottle (10) is of the type with two compartments separated by an intermediate mobile stopper (18). The connecting piece (34) is conical and enables a Luer-lock type connection to be made with another bottle or with an apparatus for using the medicamental substance obtained after mixing the substances contained in the two compartments.

  • Patent number: 5499751
Abstract: The device represented in its storage position contains essentially a body (11) in synthetic material containing a reservoir (10) containing a medicinal substance (29). The body (11) is fitted with an applicator nozzle (15). The reservoir (10) has the shape of a cylindrical glass jacket (17) closed at one end by a movable sealing plug (18) and at the other end by a mobile piston (19). The mobile piston is linked with a plunger (16) which advantageously is a spring in a synthetic material. A flow rate controlling filter (19) is lodged in the applicator nozzle (15). This device is advantageous because the reservoir can be sterilized with its contents. The filter and the piston along with the plunger guarantee the medicinal substance remains in an aseptic state by preventing contamination via the applicator nozzle.

The container is sealed by an axially slidable plug/plunger/valve assembly (17) provided with a slot (19) defined by two mutually engaged sealing lips and coupled to a rod (22) centered within a body (13) coupled to the container (11). The rod comprises an axial channel (23) with one end cut off along a plane perpendicular to its axis to enable a needle (15) to be operably connected to the contents (12) of the container (11) by parting the lips of the slot (19). Said rod is further provided with an assembly for coupling same to said plug (17) when the container has been driven into the body (13).

  • Patent number: 5291991
Abstract: The container (10) comprises a first compartment (11) and a second compartment (12) which are separated by a central cylindrical throat (13). The compartment (11) is extended by a neck (14) which comprises a first region (15) adjacent to the upper open end of the container and a second region (16) located between the first region (15) and the inside of the container. The region (15) has one section which is greater than that of region (16). Both regions (15, 16) are substantially cylindrical. The section of the second region (16) is substantially identical to that of the central cylindrical throat (13). An intermediate sealing plug (17) compressed into the central cylindrical throat (13) allows sealed storage of two different substances in the compartments (11) and (12). A sealing member (23) inserted into region (15) of the neck (14) is displaceable between a first, storage position, in which it acts as a seal, and a second, ready for use position.

  • Patent number: 5015229
Abstract: A device for dispensing liquids, in particular drugs, comprises a reservoir (11) provided with a neck (30) of reduced cross-section being engaged by a stopper element (16). The reservoir is completely covered by a cap (25) which has at one end a movable push button (28) which abuts against the bottom portion of the reservoir (10). In order to transfer the device from its storage position to its activated position, the operator must press on the push button (28) in such a way that the stopper element (16) penetrates into the interior of the reservoir beyond the neck of reduced crosssection (30). This device can be used as an injection syringe, a spray dispenser, or an applicator for the skin or eyes.

  • Patent number: 4941876
Abstract: The device comprises a cylindrical ampoule which is closed at one end and opened at the other end. The ampoule has a relatively large circular cylindrical zone adjacent the closed end and a relatively small cylindrical zone disposed between the relatively large cylindrical zone and the open end of the ampoule. A piston valve engages the open end of the ampoule to provide sealing engagement and dispensing of the liquid contents when desired. An intermediary stopper engages the relatively small cylindrical zone, when the stopper is in a storage position, to divide the ampoule into first and second storage compartments. The stopper is shaped to provide tight sealing engagement with the relatively small circular cylindrical zone while providing at least one opening, between its lateral surface and the interior wall of the ampoule, for allowing passage and mixing the substances contained in the compartments, when it is positioned in the relatively large circular cylindrical zone.

  • Patent number: 4772271
Abstract: The present invention relates to a prefilled syringe comprising a reservoir containing a single dose of medicine to be injected. The principle elements of this syringe are the reservoir (10), a blocking element (12), a capsule (13) integral with this element, a needle (14), a needle-protector (15) and a cap (16). The cap (16), in place on the reservoir, makes it possible for the operator, by pressing on this cap to make the blocking element penetrate towards the interior of the reservoir a sufficient distance to cause the precise bubble removal of the syringe. To this end, the cap is connected to the capsule (13) by a base (36) comprising a zone of reduced resistance.

  • Patent number: 4741737
Abstract: A prefilled ampoule-syringe including an ampoule body having a smaller inner dimension than the body and a stopper means associated with an external capsule for closing the ampoule. The stopper is provided with an internal conduit having at least one transverse branch opening into a longitudinal branch between the interior of the capsule body and a needle-holding tip. The capsule is arranged for actual movement from a position within the neck where it is in a closed position to an open injection position within the ampoule body. When the capsule is in the position in the neck of the ampoule, the contents of the ampoule are in contact only with the walls of the ampoule and the inner surface of the stopper which faces into the neck. When the stopper is moved to injection position, the contents of the ampoule pass through the transverse passage and down the longitudinal passage to the needle holding tip for injection into a patient.

  • Patent number: 4610669
Abstract: A prefilled ampoule-syringe of unitary dose comprises an ampoule being closed at one of its ends, the other end being open. The ampoule further comprises a narrowed zone. A hollow capsule is arranged at top of the opening of the ampoule. This capsule is connected to a movable stopper means comprising a stopper head and a hollow cylindrical member having a radial channel and a peripheral rim. This rim acts as a retention member during the storage and as a piston ring during the injection. In order to avoid the loss of its elasticity, the rim is located within a belt of enlarged diameter downstream from the narrowed zone during the storage.
