  • Patent number: 4898129
Abstract: A rotary piston pump assembly includes a rotary piston pump having a pump housing. First and second outlets lead fluid out of the pump housing. The fluid is returned into the pump housing through the first outlets and the first outlets are closed during a portion of the rotation of the pump.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 26, 1988
Date of Patent: February 6, 1990
    Assignee: Interatom GmbH
    Inventors: Ewald Junghans, Gabriel Tittizer
  • Patent number: 4896633
Abstract: A rotary piston pump assembly includes a rotary piston pump having first, second and third sectors. Pistons successively pass through the first, the second and the third sectors during one rotation. The pump has a pump output equal to zero during passage of the pistons through the first sector.

  • Patent number: 4821689
Abstract: A valve drive assembly for an internal combustion engine includes a given number of pistons, the given number of inlet or outlet valves each being connected to a piston and independently movable by hydraulic fluid acting upon the pistons, at least one rotatable link disposed in a housing for aiding in shutting off and releasing a supply of hydraulic fluid to the pistons at regular intervals, and an auxiliary shaft supported in the rotatable link and driven by a crankshaft. First and second supply lines for hydraulic fluid lead from a hydraulic pump to first and second annular grooves formed in the housing. The rotatable link has the given number of radial third and fourth conduits formed therein communicating with the first and second annular grooves. The auxiliary shaft has fifth and sixth annular grooves formed therein communicating with the third and fourth conduits. Fifth and sixth conduits communicate with the fifth and sixth annular grooves.

  • Patent number: 4715731
Abstract: A gas bearing and shaft assembly includes complementary sets of guiding surfaces formed on the gas bearing and the shaft being mutually spaced apart defining bearing gaps therebetween, at least one guiding surface of each of the sets being a porous gas passage surface, a thin-porous layer adjoining the gas passage surface, a component having a given region disposed upstream of the gas passage surface in flow direction of gas fed under pressure through the component to the gas passage surface and the component having other porous gas-permeable regions, the gas passage surface and the thin porous layer together being denser than the other gas-permeable regions of the component producing a pressure drop at the thin porous layer being substantially greater than at the other gas-permeable regions, and gas outlet paths in communication with the bearing gaps within the bearing.
