The dust hood device includes, on the lower side thereof, various openings, through which a mixture of air and dust formed during work with the power tool can be extracted. Also disclosed is the use of a dust hood, in particular at various working depths of the power tool, and to a method for dust collection, wherein opening and closing of the openings of the dust hood device can be controlled in accordance with the working depth of the power tool.
