  • Patent number: 5021388
Abstract: Process for applying a catalyst layer (4) composed of noble metals and/or noble-metal compounds to a ceramic carrier (1), in which process at least one ceramic intermediate layer (2) based on a glaze is applied, subjected to a heat treatment and cooled down. The catalyst layer (4) is in turn deposited as a chemical, electrochemical or physical deposit. Variants with .gamma.-Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 intermediate layer or with SiO.sub.2 intermediate layer or with Si intermediate layer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 6, 1989
Date of Patent: June 4, 1991
    Assignee: Comprex AG
    Inventors: Jean-Daniel Fridez, Gabriele Gerharz
  • Patent number: 4983261
Abstract: Method of applying a catalyst layer consisting of precious metals and/or precious metal compounds to a substrate of ceramic material by an electrically conducting SnO.sub.2 intermediate layer, doped with Sb, being pyrolytically applied to the surface of the substrate and subjected to an additional heat treatment for the purpose of consolidation and sintering, whereupon the catalyst layer is applied electrolytically to the intermediate layer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 22, 1989
Date of Patent: January 8, 1991
    Assignee: Asea Brown Boveri Ltd.
    Inventors: Claus Schuler, Gabriele Gerharz
  • Patent number: 4971939
Abstract: Process for applying a catalyst layer (4) composed of noble metals and/or noble-metal compounds to a ceramic support (1), in which a foil (2) made of an Ag/Ti alloy is first placed on the surface of the support (1) and this is fused in vacuo by heat treatment, cooled down again and firmly bound to the support (1). The catalyst layer (4) is in turn deposited in an electrochemical manner on the electrically conducting intermediate layer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 13, 1989
Date of Patent: November 20, 1990
    Assignee: Asea Brown Boveri Ltd
    Inventors: Jean-Daniel Fridez, Gabriele Gerharz
