Abstract: A wheel for vehicles is provided. The wheel has a rim of sheet metal having on its axially outer side an outer flange, an outer bead seat, an outer retaining hump, and a rim well connected to the outer bead seat through the outer retaining hump. The wheel has a disc of sheet metal having a cover part and a connection part axially protruding from the cover part. The connection part of the disc is fixed to a radially inner surface of the rim. At least one formation of additive material is formed on at least one of the rim and the disc, the at least one formation defining a steep thickness change with respect to a surrounding region of sheet metal.

Abstract: Method for manufacturing a vehicle wheel, comprising the following steps: providing a rim made of metal sheet, providing a disc made of metal material, comprising a cover part and a connection part, protruding axially from the cover part, wherein on the connection part is obtained a plurality of recesses, distributed in the circumferential direction of the connection part, interference-fitting the connection part of the disc to a radially inner surface of the rim, and applying a magnetic pulse to deform areas of the rim respectively superimposing the recesses of the connection part, so that the disc is held in rotation and axially by said deformed areas of the rim.

Abstract: The wheel (1) comprises a rim (2) and a hub (3) between which a plurality of spokes (4) are connected. The rim has a radially recessed, cylindrical outer surface (2a-2d) with a channel-shaped cross-section and is provided with a plurality of drilled seats (6) each intended for the attachment of a respective nipple (5) for the connection of a spoke (4). Annular sealing members (13) are provided between each nipple (5) and the corresponding drilled seat (6) of the rim (2). The wheel (1) further comprises a circumferential, band-like seal (14) which is made of resilient material, is fitted on the rim (2), and extends over the recessed cylindrical surface of the rim (2) in a circumferentially stretched condition so as sealingly to cover all of the drilled seats (6).
