  • Patent number: 9598817
Abstract: Methods for dyeing of microporous track etched membranes are provided. In particular, these methods are suitable for dark shade dyeing of membranes having large pores with low porosity. Desirably, such methods provide dyed membranes wherein the membrane parameters are not significantly changed as compared to those prior to dyeing. Likewise, the resultant dyed membranes exhibit no negative influence on sensitive cell culture system applications.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 1, 2013
Date of Patent: March 21, 2017
    Assignee: Corning Incorporated
    Inventors: Gabriele Wedell, Michael Stiebitz

  • Patent number: 7598076
Abstract: The invention relates to a cell culture insert (1) comprising a beaker-shaped insert wall (11), a base (9) consisting of a membrane filter, projecting support arms (3, 4) that are distributed around the periphery of the top and lateral spacers (7, 8) for a vertical and horizontal orientation in a well (2) containing a liquid culture medium (N) in a cell culture plate. According to the invention, the spacers (7, 8) are distributed around the periphery of the cell culture insert (1) and have different radial lengths in such a way that a large feed opening (5) and several smaller openings (5A) are formed.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: October 6, 2009
    Assignee: Oxyphen AG
    Inventors: Gabriele Wedell, Helmut Matthes
  • Publication number: 20080044895
Abstract: A filter support is releasably connectable to a tissue cassette for collecting and embedding cells in paraffin wax. The cassette includes a cylindrical port which extends from a top surface through a bottom surface of the cassette. The filter support has a cylindrical extension to extend over a bottom end of the cylindrical port of the tissue cassette. The filter support is made of a polar polymer.
