  • Publication number: 20220330792
Abstract: A falloposcope is described, and a method of screening a patient for fallopian tube and/or ovarian cancer with the falloposcope. The falloposcope can perform optical imaging, including fluorescence imaging and/or optical coherence tomography (OCT), and optionally include a channel for a sampling wire, within a diameter of about 0.7 millimeter. The method includes inserting the falloposcope through a lumen of vagina, cervix, uterus, and fallopian tube so a tip of the falloposcope is in proximity to a first fallopian tube or ovary of the patient; providing fluorescence stimulus wavelength through an illumination fiber of the falloposcope while imaging light at fluorescence emission wavelength through a coherent fiber bundle to form fluorescence emissions images; and determining suspect tissue. Then the sampling wire is used to collect cells from the suspect tissue for karyotype and other analysis.

  • Patent number: 7169890
Abstract: The invention regards a process for the production of ramoplanin-like derivatives of formula (I): RAMO-NC—CO—R (I), wherein the radical R represents a hydrocarbon radical and the portion RAMO-NH— represents deacylated ramoplanin, any of its factors or ramoplanose. The compound of Formula (I) are obtained by reacting a carboxylic acid R—COOH with deacylated ramoplanin, any of its factors or ramoplanose protected on the ornitine amino groups. New compounds wherein the hydrocarbon radical R is different form those characaterizing the ramoplanin and ramoplanose natural products and their tetrahydro-derivatives are calimed. The new compounds have the same or better antinfective activity, lower haemolytic effect and better tolerability profile than ramoplanin.

  • Publication number: 20060211603
Abstract: Novel ramoplanin derivatives are disclosed. These ramoplanin derivatives exhibit antibacterial activity. As the compounds of the subject invention exhibit potent activities against gram positive bacteria, they are useful antimicrobial agents. Methods of synthesis and of use of the compounds are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5752941
Abstract: The invention relates to central venous polyurethane catheters with a thin hydrophilic coating loaded with an antibiotic of the ramoplanin group or any mixture thereof and their use in preventing catheter related infections. These catheters are useful to prevent bacterial adherence and colonization and, therefore, to lower the risk of vascular infections in catheterized patients. The method of preparing the catheter of the invention consists in incubating polyurethane catheters coated with a hydrophilic film in an aqueous solution of the selected antibiotic.
