    Abstract: An adsorption medium that includes a finely divided substrate provided on at least a portion of its surface with the polymerization product of a silane that includes (a) two or three olefinic groups having the formula --(CH.sub.2).sub.m CH.dbd.CH.sub.2, where m is between 0 and 3, inclusive, and (b) at least one ligand selected to interact with a substance brought into contact with the adsorption medium to adsorb at least a portion of the substance on the surface of the adsorption medium.
