Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure include a hair styling device. The device includes a grip portion contoured for being gripped by a user. The grip portion includes a power cable and a power switch at a first end for supplying and controlling electrical current to the hair styling device. The device also includes a heating portion configured to generate heat based on the electrical current. The heating portion extends from the grip portion at a second end, opposite the first end, and has a cross-sectional profile with side portions between substantially circular ends along a length of the heating portion. The heating portion is configured to apply the heat to hair wrapped around the heating portion to impart a wave in the hair according to the cross-sectional profile.
