  • Patent number: 12263638
Abstract: According to some aspects, an additive fabrication device and a build platform suitable for use within an additive fabrication device are provided. The build platform may include a build surface on which material may be formed by the additive fabrication device when the build platform is installed within the additive fabrication device. According to some embodiments, the build platform may include a flexible build layer and at least one removal mechanism configured to be actuated to apply a force to the flexible build layer. Such actuation may cause the flexible build layer to deform, thereby enabling separation of material adhered to the build surface from the build platform. According to some embodiments, the build platform may comprise a restorative mechanism that acts to return the flexible build layer to a flat state so that subsequent additive fabrication may form material on a flat build surface.

  • Publication number: 20250049169
Abstract: Aspects herein are directed to, among other things, a knitted upper for an article of footwear. The knitted upper includes different knit zones including a first knit zone which may be located in a toe and forefoot region of the article of footwear. The first knit zone includes a first knit layer forming an outer-facing surface of the knitted upper, a second knit layer forming an inner-facing surface of the knitted upper, and a third thermoformed layer substantially contained between the first knit layer and the second knit layer. The third thermoformed layer acts as a barrier, reducing the likelihood of abrasion forces that may occur from contact between the knitted upper and a ground or other surface from contacting yarns that form the second knit layer, thereby increasing the structural integrity of the knitted upper.

  • Publication number: 20250040650
Abstract: Knit elements, including knit heel elements, configured with cushioning and rigidity features, along with uppers and footwear having the same, and methods of manufacturing and integrating the same in footwear. The cushioning and rigidity features may be provided in a knit element by positioning cushioning yarns and yarns comprising a thermoplastic material in selected zones and/or knit layers. Heat and pressure may be selectively applied to knit zones to melt the thermoplastic material and form a thermoformed layer that has a desired degree of hardness and/or rigidity. The thermoformed layer can form at least part of an integrally knit heel-counter of an upper for an article footwear, e.g., without introducing separate components traditionally attached or integrated to form the heel-counter.

  • Publication number: 20240290496
Abstract: Systems and methods for predicting a person's likelihood of a situational mental health condition (such as post-partum depression (PPD)) diagnosis using machine learning models are described. In one example, a mental health risk assessment system receives data at recurring intervals for a person during their pregnancy and in the year after their pregnancy. Based on both the recurring data for the person as well as the specific time period at which the data is obtained, a machine learning model can generate highly accurate mental health predictions. The mental health risk assessment system can further implement a software application that manages the flow of information from patients as well as presentation of information to the patients. Furthermore, the application can present targeted information for a patient to the patient's doctor or other medical personnel/facility.

  • Publication number: 20240037193
Abstract: The current document is directed to reinforcement-learning-based management-system agents that control distributed applications and the infrastructure environments in which they run. Management-system agents are initially trained in simulated environments and specialized training environments before being deployed to live, target distributed computer systems where they operate in a controller mode in which they do not explore the control-state space or attempt to learn better policies and value functions, but instead produce traces that are collected and stored for subsequent use. Each deployed management-system agent is associated with a twin training agent that uses the collected traces produced by the deployed management-system agent for optimizing its policy and value functions. When the optimized policy is determined to be more robust, stable, and effective than the policy of the corresponding deployed management-system agent, the optimized policy is transferred to the deployed management-system agent.

  • Patent number: 11877791
Abstract: A coaptive surgical sealing tool may be similar to an ordinary hemostat with long (50, 60, 70 or 80 mm) thin jaws for sliding into the liver parenchyma, without tearing the larger blood vessels. The jaws are spring loaded and are designed for uniform compression, and to avoid closing too quickly. The jaws are capable of sealing a 50, 60, 70 or 80 mm sealing length, in a single bite, although it can also seal shorter lengths as well. The tool can be used with existing RF/bi-polar cautery generators.
