  • Patent number: 11635890
Abstract: An arrangement of alphabet keys is provided in a total of three rows. Two of the three rows have a total of nine keys each, and the other row has a total of eight keys. The vowel keys are grouped together in a vowel group having a symmetric shape in which an imaginary line extending vertically divides the vowel group into a left half and right half that is a mirror image of the left half. The vowel group traverses the three rows and at least two columns, and at least a portion of the vowel group is located at a center of the arrangement. The consonant keys are arranged in alphabetical order from left to right on opposite sides of vowel group. A vowel key in the vowel group is centered along the imaginary line to be at a midpoint of the vowel group in a horizontal direction.

  • Patent number: 9102465
Abstract: Containers and methods for storing animal waste, such as feline or canine waste, human waste, and/or soiled waste products, and controlling associated odor are described. A container having a compressible body with an open top, is provided, the body of the container including a material substantially impermeable to vapor to prevent permeation of odor through the body. Waste is deposited within the container, and a closing member is used to secure the open top of the container in a closed position to at least partially prevent exodus of air carrying the odor from the interior. A filtering member secured within the interior of the container further removes odor to minimize exodus of odor from the container into the surrounding environment. The container can thereby effectively store waste while controlling associated odors, enabling indoor storage, or similar temporary retention of the contained waste until outdoor disposal becomes convenient.

  • Patent number: 8852717
Abstract: In a method for containing a spilled liquid, a mat is provided onto a surface. The mat includes a liquid permeable upper layer disposed above a liquid impermeable lower layer, with a watertight adhesive securing the upper layer to the lower layer. The watertight adhesive defines one or more enclosed regions between the upper and lower layers. A vessel containing liquid can be placed on the mat, accessible by an animal or human, such that liquid spilled from the vessel falls onto the mat above the one or more enclosed regions. The spilled liquid permeates through the liquid permeable upper layer onto one or more enclosed regions, where the liquid impermeable lower layer prevents further vertical permeation of the liquid while the watertight adhesive that bounds the enclosed regions inhibits lateral permeation of the liquid. The spilled liquid is thereby contained in the enclosed regions onto which it was spilled.
