    Abstract: The present invention provides a cover for the head of a golf club, especially a putter. The cover comprises a hollow body having an open end, the body being arranged to define a slot which opens onto the open end of the body. The slot is shaped and arranged to receive a portion of the club when the club head is located in the body and to prevent withdrawal of the club head from the body in an axial direction. In the preferred embodiment, the slot is substantially L-shaped so that the cover must first be rotated before it can be removed. The cover offers good protection to a club head while being simple to fit and remove.
