  • Patent number: 11526652
Abstract: Images in e-book and other electronic media content can be automatically enhanced for viewing on client devices, using various image categories, attributes, and expected qualities. Should systems and methods determine, based on the categories and attributes, that a given media object does not satisfy at least one rule for optimized presentation of the content on a particular client device, an updated presentation of the content can be generated, possibly in accordance with a predetermined specification. The updating may be in the form of image enhancement through adjustment of the size of the images in the media object. Machine learning schema can assist in recognizing images by category, importance and readability scoring, and in adjusting the images for optimal viewing.

  • Publication number: 20220100328
Abstract: A method and system to maintain, in a data store associated with a device, first content of an electronic publication, second content of the electronic publication, and mapping information enabling navigation between a first navigational structure of the first content and a second navigational structure of the second content. In response to one or more first indications, the first navigational structure of the first content is navigated. The method and system receive, via an access point corresponding to a first location of the first navigational structure, an indication to access the second navigational structure. Using the mapping information, a second location within the second navigational structure is determined in view of the first location of the first navigational structure. The method and system generate, via an interface of the device, a display comprising a portion of the second content corresponding to the second location within the second navigational structure.

  • Publication number: 20150100473
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing credit through USSD are described. A user dials a short USSD code onto his or her mobile device, and is prompted to enter an authentication code to confirm his or her identity. Once authenticated, the user is presented with a USSD menu that includes an option to pay with credit. The user chooses this option, and is prompted to enter an amount for the credit. The service provider checks the credit score of the user, and approves or denies credit based on the score. When the credit score is acceptable, the user is asked to enter the merchant ID for the store and to confirm checkout. The amount for the purchase is then transferred to the merchant by the service provider.
