  • Patent number: 7890061
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses enable selective operation in an extended bandwidth channel of a wireless communication band. For example, a client station can be selectively authorized to operate on a 40 MHz channel in a 2.4 GHz band. The client station or an access point or both can determine whether interference exists in the wireless communication band. If potential interference exists, the client station may operate on a non-extended bandwidth channel. If potential interference does not exist, the client station may operate on an extended bandwidth channel. Operation between the two channels can be dynamic based on continued monitoring of the wireless communication band for potential interference.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: February 15, 2011
    Assignee: Intel Corporation
Inventors: Assaf Kasher, Gal Basson, Solomon B. Trainin
  • Patent number: 7565140
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, apparatus and system of processing received wireless signals. The apparatus, according to some demonstrative embodiments of the invention, may include a network interface configured to convert the received wireless signals into output signals to be provided to a host processor, the network interface having a first mode of operation, in which the output signals have base-band values corresponding to base-band values of the received signals, and a second mode of operation, in which the output signals have values representing a data frame of the received signals. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Inventors: Uriel Lemberger, Jorge Myszne, Gal Basson
  • Patent number: 7333555
Abstract: Briefly, some embodiments of the invention may provide devices, systems and methods for wireless combined-signal communication. For example, a method in accordance with an embodiment of the invention may include transmitting a combined signal over a combined channel by mapping a first block of said combined signal to be carried by a first sub-channel of said combined channel and mapping a second block, substantially identical to said first block, to be carried by a second sub-channel of said combined channel.

  • Publication number: 20070195811
Abstract: A wireless communication device, and a wireless communication system and a method of beamforming is presented. The wireless communication system and/or device includes a beamformee unit, a beamformer unit and two or more antennas to transmit the data unit and the protocol data unit according to the beamformee and the beamformer units, respectively. The beamformee conveys feedback information by a data unit in one of the feedback positions that include an immediate feedback position, an aggregated feedback position and a delayed feedback position. The beamformer unit generates a protocol data unit including a control field that includes one of the feedback request information types which is selected from a Channel State Information or uncompressed Steering Matrix or compressed Steering Matrix to request feedback from a remote communication device.
