  • Patent number: 7586515
Abstract: A realtime video quality measurement instrument may be configured for both double-ended and single-ended operation. For double-ended operation reference and test video signals are stored in respective buffers and spatial/temporally aligned. Desired quality measurements are performed on the aligned frames of the test and reference video signals according to stored setup instructions. For single-ended operation the reference video signal and a signature for the reference video signal are pre-stored together with the desired quality measurements for the frames of the reference video signal. Then the test video signal is received, signatures determined, and the test and reference video signals aligned using the signatures. The desired quality measurements are then performed on the aligned frames of the test and reference video signals.

  • Patent number: 7061920
Abstract: A streaming media quality analyzer system compares original streaming media from a source, or original packetized streaming media from the source, with a reconstructed packetized streaming media representing the packetized streaming media as received over a network in a connectionless manner at a remote site. At the remote site the received packetized streaming media is analyzed to determine time of arrival of the packets including identification of missing packets. The analysis results are transmitted over the network to a measurement site and used to reconstruct the received packetized streaming media from the original packetized streaming media. The reconstructed packetized streaming media is then analyzed to determine the quality of the packetized streaming media received at the remote site.

  • Patent number: 6944356
Abstract: Locating of points of interest in an impaired image derived from video processing of a reference image is achieved by generating an impairment map for the impaired image. Then a cross-fade is performed between the impaired image and the impairment map so that points of interest indicated by the impairment map are accurately located on the impaired image.

  • Publication number: 20040150672
Abstract: A picture analyzer with a window interface operates on a host processor together with a video image processing or display application. The video image processing or display application provides as part of a first window on a display monitor an image to be analyzed. The picture analyzer captures bitmap data for the image and processes it according to a desired measurement algorithm to produce measurement results. The measurement results are displayed in a second window on the display monitor. The second window also includes controls for the picture analyzer so an operator may interface with the picture analyzer to select the desired measurement algorithm and associated parameters.
