  • Patent number: 6186319
Abstract: A double storage container for articles of recorded media includes a pair of storage containers that each have a base and a lid. The double storage container may be fabricated by connecting the bases together with connectors or welds. A common sheath is applied over both lids and the hinge to receive printed material.

  • Patent number: 5390515
Abstract: A recording medium security container and associated release key which disengages a lock mechanism of the security container enabling the security container to be moved to an open position for removing the contents thereof. The security container has a base, a lid pivotally mounted on the base, and a lock mechanism for securing the lid in a locked position on the base. The key has a grasp base and a plurality of tabs extending outwardly from the base for disengaging the lock mechanism of the security container. Also provided on the key is a pivotally mounted lever which has a pair of tangs which releasably engage and grip the base of the security container so that the key may be grasped to pull the base away from the lid to an open position, while the tabs extending from the key disengage the lock mechanism of the security container.

  • Patent number: 5302078
Abstract: A machine and method for automatically unloading a cassette from a loaded security package of the type having a storage compartment and an access opening providing access into the compartment, and further having a lock plate movable over the access opening and into a locked position to block removal of the cassette from the security package. The security package is fed into an unload station by a pressure-actuated slide plate. Thereafter, a pressure-actuated unlock cylinder will automatically insert a plurality of pins into engagement with locking projections on the security package to disengage the lock plate from the locking projections. A pressure-actuated cylinder then will move the lock plate away from the access opening allowing free access to the storage compartment within the security package.

  • Patent number: 5211287
Abstract: A sleeve for storing and displaying a videocassette comprises a clear flexible plastic, elongated rectangular one-piece member, formed with an interior storage chamber completely enclosed except for an end opening through which a videocassette is inserted into and removed from the chamber. A chipboard cover having printed indicia thereon identifying a prerecorded program on the videocassette is retained within the chamber and slidably receives the videocassette therein. A pair of juxtaposed, elongated, preferably convex flanges, is formed on a spaced-apart pair of front and rear walls of the sleeve and extend partially across the end opening to retain the videocassette within the chipboard sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5177936
Abstract: A machine and method for automatically loading a cassette into the storage compartment of a security package at a load station. A package and a cassette are moved simultaneously toward each other from a supply of such packages and cassettes by power actuated slide plates with the cassette being located above the level of the package. In a first embodiment a pivotally mounted pressure actuated cam plate forces a front end of the cassette in an angular direction partially into the storage compartment and then force the remainder of the cassette completely into the storage compartment as the slide plate continues to move the package toward the load station. In a second embodiment the slide plate moves the cassette along a cam plate and partially into the storage compartment, afterwhich, a pressure actuated plunger forces the remainder of the cassette into the storage compartment.
