  • Patent number: 11808069
Abstract: A hinge comprises a first body and a second body irremovably rotatably coupled along a rotational axis of the hinge. The first body and the second body comprise opposing radial bearing surfaces engaged only within a working rotational range of the hinge for fixing the relative position of the first body and the second body in a radial direction with respect to the rotational axis of the hinge. The first body and the second body further define opposing axial bearing surfaces engaged only within the working rotational range of the hinge for fixing the relative position of the first body and the second body in an axial direction with respect to the rotational axis of the hinge. The opposing radial bearing surfaces and the opposing axial bearing surfaces are not engaged outside of the working rotational range.

  • Patent number: 7278869
Abstract: An electrical connector system is adapted for placement into a recessed space defining a raceway formed in a floor of an aircraft having an open region. The electrical connector system includes a first connector and a second connector connectable along a first axis. A frame is provided. The first connector is selectably movable in the frame along the first axis in response to movement of a frame portion, with the second connector being constrained by the frame to resist movement along the first axis. Movement of the frame portion permits selective engagement and disengagement between the first and second connectors, the frame portion being accessible from the open region.

  • Publication number: 20070037452
Abstract: An electrical connector adapter (40) is disclosed for electrically interconnecting a portable electronic component such as an MP3 player, CD player, or other portable device with sound or other equipment in a vehicle. The adapter (40) includes a one-piece insulating housing (60) having a system mating end (42) for interconnecting to a vehicle's electrical system and a component mating end (44) for interconnecting to a portable electrical component. Three electric contacts (62, 64, 68) are retained in three openings (90, 92, 94) respectively in the housing (60) and are arranged to electrically mate with a plug (54) of a portable electrical component.

  • Publication number: 20060217003
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly includes an inner housing, where the inner housing includes a rib which is alignable with the slot in an outer housing to polarize the inner and outer housings together. The rib includes an interruption providing a gap in the rib defining a forward rib portion and an aft rib portion. Alternatively, the inner housing can be received directly in a mating low profile housing where a flexible arm containing an aperture is received over the forward rib portion to latch the two housings together.

  • Publication number: 20050266738
Abstract: An electrical connector is shown having a housing and a secondary lock member which is movable between a terminal insertion position and a terminal lock position. A primary locking latch of the connector housing is defined by an arch-shaped member having upstanding posts which flank the terminal receiving passageway and have a depending cantilever latch arm extending forwardly therefrom and extending into the terminal passageway. The latch is resiliently movable in multiple directions during the terminal insertion, as the posts can be movable in a longitudinal direction while at the same time the latch arm can be resiliently moved in a cantilevered beam fashion depending from the arch member. The slidable secondary lock is moved into a position behind the arch member, and secondarily locks the terminal in place, while at the same time provides a backup to the arch members of the locking latch.

  • Patent number: 6200164
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly includes a plug connector (2) and a mating connector or printed circuit board header (94) that are mated with the assistance of a cam slide (4). Channels in which the cam slide (4) shifts are formed by top rails (26) that are staggered relative to bottom rails (30) so that the rails can be formed by straight pull mold tooling without side pulls. The cam slide (4) can be inserted from opposite ends of the plug connector housing (20). At least some of the power terminals (86) are located separately from signal terminals (88) so that they can be separately sealed. A combined terminal position assurance member and seal retainer (74) is latched to the plug connector housing on the inside of power terminal cavities (52) so as not to interrupt the sealing integrity.
