    Abstract: An electrical connector includes a front housing having front terminal channels and rear housing having rear terminal channels aligned with the front terminal channels. An ISL device is coupled to the housing with a front plate positioned in front of the front housing and a lock plate positioned between the front housing and the rear housing. The ISL device has a staged mating sequence with the housing, wherein in a first stage, lock plate channels are aligned with the front and rear terminal channels to allow the terminals to at least partially pass therethrough, and wherein in a second stage, the lock plate is moved relative to the housing to a blocking position where the lock plate blocks the terminals from removal from the front terminal channels.

    Abstract: An electrical connector includes a housing including a front housing and a rear housing matable to define the housing. The front housing and the rear housing are molded as a single piece with a hinge member connecting the front housing and the rear housing. The rear housing is rotatable about the hinge member from an open position to a closed position. The front housing has front terminal channels configured to receive terminals and the rear housing has rear terminal channels aligned with the front terminal channels when the rear housing is rotated to the closed position but not aligned with the front terminal channels when the rear housing is in the open position. The rear terminal channels are configured to allow the terminals to at least partially pass therethrough into the front terminal channels during loading of the terminals into the housing.

    Abstract: A sealed electrical connector includes a housing having a mating end and a wire receiving end. The wire receiving end is configured to receive a terminal joined to a wire. A cover is provided on the wire receiving end of the housing. The cover includes a terminal position assurance (TPA) element that extends from the cover through the wire receiving end and into the housing. The TPA engages the housing to prevent movement of the cover to a closed position until the terminal is fully loaded through the wire receiving end of the housing. The connector also includes a seal held between the housing and cover to seal the terminal receiving end when the cover is in the closed position. The connector further includes a terminal retention device to retain a terminal contact when the contact is fully loaded in the connector.

    Abstract: An assembly that mounts components to a module box is disclosed. Large components, such as capacitors, can take up appreciable amounts space on a circuit board. If these components are mounted to the module box, there will be more surfaces on the circuit for other components. In an illustrated embodiment, three capacitors are mounted to a module box using three separate plastic cradles. The module can be made of plastic or metal as necessary. The component cradles are preferably secured to the box by an interference fit between the hole and posts. Alternate methods to secure the component cradles include snap fit, heat staking or epoxy. The component cradles also provide alignment of the pins that extend through the circuit that will eventually be mounted on the box. The pins are electrically fixed to the circuit board by either solder or press fit means.

    Abstract: An electrical connector is provided that includes first and second housings. The first and second housings are matable with one another to join corresponding electrical contacts. The first and second housings are movable between initial and final positions, at which corresponding electrical contacts partially and fully mate, respectively. The electrical connector includes a lever member having cam arms that engages the first and second housings. The cam arms move the first and second housings between the initial and final positions as the lever member is rotated. The first housing has deflectable ledges that retain the cam arms in a fixed position when the electrical connector is in the initial position thereby limiting movement of the lever member. The second housing has rails that align with and deflect the deflectable ledges away from the cam arms as the first housing is moved from the initial position into the second housing.

    Abstract: An electrical connector assembly includes a plug connector 2 and a mating connector or printed circuit board header 94 that are mated with the assistance of a cam slide 4. Peripheral seals 66 and 68 surround housing bodies 21 and 23 and engage the header shroud 96. Two pockets 116, 118 are formed in the header 94 and the housing bodies 21, 23 are inserted into these cavities. Pressure relief openings or holes 112 and 114 are formed in the header shroud 96 and a hydrophobic membrane 122, 124 covers corresponding openings. These membranes permit passage of air as the connectors are mated to prevent pressure buildup, but water or other liquids cannot penetrate into the sealed portion of the assembly.

The opening receiving a latching tooth therein and the latching surface engaging the latching tooth to secure the component.

Seamed spacer sleeve (20) is insert molded into the dielectric material of the housing (10) and is arranged to withstand compressive forces from a fastener inserted therein and includes dimples (21) for receiving the plastic material during an injection molding process and is a stamped and formed member. The use of an insert molded spacer sleeve reduces the cost of the housing (10) and provides a means of transmitting compressive forces which avoids compressive forces acting on the housing (10) thereby avoiding cracking and fracturing of the housing (10).

    Abstract: An input/output electrical connector header 102 includes at least two rows of terminal pins 140 which can be connected to two separate printed circuit boards 106 and 108. The same header 102 provides input and output for both printed circuit boards 106, 108. The terminal pins 140 in each of the rows extend through openings 130 in the same header housing wall 126. A separable interconnection is made between pins in a second terminal row and a second printed circuit board 108 at the rear of the header 102. This separate connection can be established by a separate multiposition connector 114, 214, 314 or 414 containing receptacle contacts 116, 216, 316, 416 respectively. In other embodiments, this separate connector 514, 614, 714 and 1214, includes the terminal pins in the second terminal row in the separate connector.

Wire guide (1) is arranged for connection to an electrical connector (40) such that the shells (10,30) will be moved laterally towards each other in registration with profiled rails (47) so that double beam latches (15) will latchingly engage respective latching projections (35). Hermaphroditic wire guide (1) advantageously reduces the number of parts required for a wire guide and provides reliable mechanical strain relief to a bundle of wires exiting electrical connector (40).
