  • Publication number: 20250071703
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a peripheral device may synchronize a local clock to an access point timing synchronization function clock (TSF_AP) that is maintained by an access point (AP) connected to the peripheral device. The peripheral device may maintain, based at least in part on the local clock, an estimated time-to-play timing synchronization function clock (TSF_est) that is associated with outputting user data. The peripheral device may receive, from the AP, timing synchronization information that is based at least in part on a comparison between a wireless communication device (WCD) time-to-play timing synchronization function software clock (TSF_soft) and the TSF_est. The peripheral device may output the user data based at least in part on the TSF_est and the timing synchronization information. Numerous other aspects are described.

  • Publication number: 20240147318
Abstract: Aspects relate to roaming using multi-link communication. In some examples, a wireless station communicating with a first access point via a multi-link connection, using a first link and at least one other link, may identify a failure condition associated with the at least one other link. In this case, the wireless station may use one of the links to verify a connection to a second access point, while maintaining connectivity with the first access point via the first link Once connectivity to the second access point is verified, the wireless station may switch its multi-link connection to the second access point.

  • Patent number: 9775181
Abstract: A method and apparatus for re-associating a station (STA) to an access point (AP). The STA sends a re-association request to the AP to initiate a re-association process with the AP. The re-association request indicates that a handshake operation is to be bypassed during the re-association process. The STA receives a re-association response from the AP in response to the re-association request and, upon receiving the re-association response, enables data communications with the AP using a set of preexisting cryptographic keys. For example, the set of preexisting cryptographic keys may be negotiated with the AP during at least one of a prior association process or a prior re-association process.

  • Publication number: 20160112935
Abstract: A method of operating a user station (STA) to scan for access points (APs). The STA broadcasts a probe request on a first saved channel of one or more saved channels. More specifically, each of the one or more saved channels corresponds to a channel on which the STA had prior communications with an AP. The STA remains on the first saved channel for an extended duration to listen for a probe response from a first AP. Specifically, the extended duration is greater than a dwell time of the STA when scanning wireless channels other than the one or more saved channels.

  • Patent number: 9226102
Abstract: In a wireless network, a first wireless device may send a first frame instructing a second wireless device to suspend a block acknowledgement session while the first wireless device is facilitating a Bluetooth operation. When the Bluetooth operation is complete, the first wireless device may send a second frame instructing the second wireless device to resume the block acknowledgement session.
