  • Patent number: 11882182
Abstract: Embodiments of present disclosure relate to a method and an electronic device for determining a storage node (SN) for a network element (NE) in a communication network. The method comprises detecting addition of a NE to a plurality of NEs, wherein each of the plurality of NEs is dynamically allocated to a virtualization unit of a plurality of virtualization units, obtaining context information associated with each of a plurality of storage nodes and the NE upon detecting the addition of the NE to the plurality of NEs, wherein the plurality of storage nodes is located in the communication network and configured to store data associated with the plurality of NEs, and determining a storage node from the plurality of storage nodes for the NE, based on the context information associated with each of the plurality of storage nodes and the NE, wherein the virtualization unit of the plurality of virtualization units allocated to each of the plurality of NEs is updated upon selection of the storage node for the NE.

  • Publication number: 20230045460
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a communication technique and a system thereof that fuse a 5th generation (5G) communication system with Internet of Things (IoT) technology to support a higher data transmission rate after a 4th generation (4G) system. The disclosure is applied to intelligent services (e.g., smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car or connected car, healthcare, digital education, retail, security and safety-related service, etc.) based on 5G communication technology and IoT-related technology. The disclosure is about telecommunication and 5G network slicing technology. A method for defining a network slice template (NST) to provide network slice, for generating a network slice instance (NSI), and a system for managing them are provided.

  • Publication number: 20220353138
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for generating a descriptor for a network slice are provided. The apparatus includes a transceiver, a memory storing one or more instructions, and at least one processor configured to execute the one or more instructions stored in the memory to obtain requirements for a network slice, determine at least one of a plurality of network slice templates (NSTs), a plurality of network slice descriptors (NSLDs), or a plurality of network slice instances (NSIs), based on the obtained requirements, when at least one of the plurality of NSTs is determined, determine at least one specific node to substitute for a plurality of abstract nodes included in the at least one of the plurality of NSTs, based on the obtained requirements, and generate a descriptor for a network slice, based on the determined at least one specific node.

  • Publication number: 20160180487
Abstract: A GPU of a processor performers load balancing by enabling and disabling CUs based on the GPU's processing load. A power control module identifies a current processing load of the GPU based on, for example, an activity level of one or more modules of the GPU. The power control module also identifies an expected future processing load of the GPU based on, for example, a number of threads (wavefronts) scheduled to be executed at the GPU. Based on a combination of the current processing load and the expected future processing load, the power control module sets the number of CUs of the GPU that are enabled and the number that are disabled (e.g. clock gated or power gated). By changing the number of enabled CUs based on processing load, the power control module maintains performance at the GPU while conserving power.
