  • Publication number: 20180067698
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system and method for automatically moving an application from one site to another site in the event of a disaster. Prior to coming back online the application is configured with information to allow it to run on the new site without having to perform the configuration actions after the application has come online. This enables a seamless experience to the user of the application while also reducing the associated downtime for the application.

  • Publication number: 20180060344
Abstract: Representations of hierarchical structures identified by source and target file storage directories are displayed on a display device. Inconsistencies are identified between the hierarchical structures identified by the source and target file storage directories. Graphical interconnections are displayed that extend at least partially between locations of at least some of the identified inconsistencies. Refactoring action indicia are displayed that are user selectable and are associated with defined actions performed by a file directory controller to modify the hierarchical structure identified by the target file storage directory to resolve at least some of the inconsistencies identified between the hierarchical structures identified by the source and target file storage directories.

  • Patent number: 9672031
Abstract: A repository control computer checks-out source code from a source code repository to a local memory of a developer's computer responsive to receiving a developer initiated check-out message. The control computer repetitively checks-in intermediate versions of the source code from the local memory of the developer's computer to the source code repository responsive to corresponding occurrences of a condition defined by a rule being satisfied. The control computer checks-in a final version of the source code from the local memory of the developer's computer to the source code repository responsive to receiving a developer initiated check-in message.

  • Publication number: 20160077917
Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure describe implementing bitmap-based data replication when a primary form of data replication between a source device and a target device cannot be used. According to one example, a temporal identifier may be received from the target device. If the source device determines that the primary replication method is unable to be used to replicate data associated with the temporal identifier, a secondary replication method may be initiated. The secondary replication method may utilize a recovery bitmap identifying data blocks that have changed on the source device since a previous event.

  • Publication number: 20160080488
Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure describe implementations of a file-based protocol for request processing. A request, sent from a first device, may be received at a second device using a file-based transport protocol as a transport service. The request may be processed by the second device using a virtual file system, which implements a transport layer to interface with the file-based transport protocol. The transport layer of the virtual file system may be utilized to receive, evaluate and process transmissions from the file-based transport protocol. The virtual file system may forward a response to the file-based transport protocol for transmission to the first device. Other examples are also provided.

  • Patent number: 9277503
Abstract: In one embodiment, a wireless network device identifies whether any other detectable network device advertises a higher advertised remaining power than a corresponding remaining power in the wireless network device. The wireless network device advertises as an active node for a zone of a wireless mobile ad hoc network, based on no other detectable network device advertising the higher advertised remaining power. The wireless network device also can advertise another wireless network device as a standby node for the zone, based on the other wireless network device advertising a lower advertised remaining power.

  • Publication number: 20120191769
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to permitting client devices that connect remotely to an enterprise network to operate in a site-aware manner. In distributed file systems, files may be replicated in multiple places across a network. Embodiments are directed to providing requesting clients referrals (or paths) to replicas of desired information that are accessible by the requesting client with the least overall “cost” to the client and the network. The present systems and methods allow remote client devices to reliably identify a site with their referral requests so that the referring server(s) may provide site-aware referrals in response to the requests.
