  • Publication number: 20150019257
Abstract: Systems and methods for notifying clinicians of potential patient care risk scenarios and identifying remedial protocols to mitigate the risk. Patient data is downloaded from medical devices associated with the patient, such as, without limitation, a ventilator, bedside monitor, infusion pump, and/or dialysis machine. In addition physician medical orders and treatment notes are received. The patient data, medical orders, and treatment notes are analyzed by a state machine programmed to identify patient risk scenarios based upon known risk factors. Alerts and recommended courses of treatment are generated to enable caregivers to recognize high risk scenarios and to take preventative steps to reduce or avoid suboptimal outcomes. A plurality of state machines may be instantiated, enabling the system to monitor an arbitrary number of patients and treatment protocols.

  • Publication number: 20150019237
Abstract: A method for computer assisted holistic patient monitoring includes receiving patient parameters from at least one medical device monitoring a patient, receiving historical patient data from a database, receiving clinician-generated data from a remote device, generating advisory feedback based on the received patient parameters, the received historical data, and the received clinician-generated data, and outputting the advisory feedback for review by a clinician. The method may further include the step of receiving a clinician response to the advisory feedback and storing the clinician response in the database. Additionally, the advisory feedback may be delivered to a second remote device operated by a supervising clinician.

  • Publication number: 20150019256
Abstract: A patient communication system includes a patient communication device, a facility update device, a server, and a portal. The patient communication device is in the bedside environment of a patient within the medical facility. The patient uses the patient communication device to post statuses and send messages to individuals outside of the medical facility to the server. The facility update device provides updates to the server from clinicians and medical devices in the bedside environment of the patient. The server compiles the information from the patient communication device and from the facility update device and automatically posts the status updates to a portal associated with the patient. The portal is accessed by the individuals associated with the patient to receive updates concerning the status of the patient.

  • Publication number: 20150013674
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method of issuing an alert for optimizing interaction between a patient and a ventilatory system. The method includes ventilating a patient using a ventilatory system and retrieving one or more of current ventilatory settings, collected ventilatory data, and patient data. The method also includes detecting corruption of interaction between a patient and the ventilatory system, determining one or more root causes of the corruption, and determining and displaying a recommendation for resolving the corruption based on the one or more root causes.
